Having a cleaner

I’m going to be having a cleaner for the first time as I’ve finally decided that I need a bit of help. I am wondering though what do you do while your cleaner is working as I think I might feel a bit awkward sitting around and watching her!

Unless I had a large house, and I am talking quite large, with grounds, etc, i wouldn't give up the housework to a cleaner if only for the fitness it affords me. Disability would be another matter, fo course.
I wonder if this trend has exacerbated the obesity crisis? wink

Trend? People have had help with cleaning for centuries.

I've had a cleaner since I was young and fit - I just don't like cleaning and would rather be doing other things. Much as I pay someone to wash the windows and decorate the house. I'm not disabled now, but my knees hurt if I kneel and I'm not keen on standing on chairs to reach high, so I'd rather someone younger did that.
