I had this ring made using my beloved mum’s garnet and some peridots were added to flank it. I intend to wear it every day but is it too blingy? I do love the colours and will be careful not to bash it. It makes me happy just to look at it and it makes me feel close to her.

If it makes you happy, wear it every day, don’t keep something that’s meaningful like this just for ‘best’.
Colours are lovely btw.

Thank you Trisha. I’m usually quite understated with my jewellery but I love it.

It’s very pretty - birth stones for January and August?
I’m beyond keeping things for best now - if you’ve got it, flaunt it!

Eternaloptimist Fri 06-Mar-26 17:07:54

It is a beautiful ring - do wear it every day and enjoy it!

Yes they are Georgesgran - she was born in April and me in September but my daughter’s birthday is in January.

Wear it with pride.

It's lovely LaCrepescule and would be a shame not to wear every single day.

Wear it, it means something to you.

LaCrepescule Fri 06-Mar-26 17:17:23

Bless you all. I sold some of her gold which she never wore and didn’t much like to pay for it. I felt a bit guilty but think she would approve.

The ring is stunning - I love it.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 06-Mar-26 17:19:54

What a lovely ring. Not at all 'blingy', very tasteful. Do enjoy wearing it!

Ziplok Fri 06-Mar-26 17:23:40

A very pretty ring. I’m sure you will enjoy wearing it it, particularly as it holds such precious memories for you.

That is such a beautiful ring LaCrepescule. I love the colours. Do wear it all the time, it will make you so happy.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 06-Mar-26 17:26:11

Wear it with pride. If you change your mind - I’ll send you my address 😊

I agree that you should wear it daily. I have given my late mother and grandmother's wedding and engagement rings to my daughter. She has worked with a jeweller who specialises in re-designing heirloom jewellery. I can't wait to see the ring and hope it's worn regularly. The rings were sitting unworn in my safe and I think my mum would heartily approve.

Wear it and revel in the joy it gives you and the comforting feeling that you mum is still with you, which she is every time you look at the ring.
Not blingy at all, looks very elegant.

Wear it if you want and makes you happy

The beauty is in the eye on the beholder, however, the meaning behind it is gorgeous

I personally find it so pretty and I would wear it with pride

grandMattie Fri 06-Mar-26 18:16:53

If you like it, wear it! Hang what others think…

LaCrepescule Fri 06-Mar-26 19:11:39

You’ve all been so kind 🙏 I’ll enjoy it for its meaning and its prettiness. I’m also having both my parents’ wedding rings made into a pendant which will hang from my German grandfather’s watch chain. As you all say, jewellery is meant to be worn.

I think the idea of re-designing/setting jewellery is lovely. My 1972 gold wedding ring (hardly worn) is very wide and heavy. I’ve left that, 2 pairs of DH’s gold cuff links and 2 gold diamond set rings to be made into matching signet rings for my (2) grandsons. I’ve already given my DGM’s wedding ring to DD1 and my DM’s wedding ring to DD2.

If you love it and it makes you happy, you have answered your own question. Wear it and enjoy it.
