All of which are horrible. It’s funny how people think they are being individuals but they all end up looking the same.

Nobody is going to have theirs removed because some granny who they've never met thinks they're nasty.

Nobody is going to be held down and made to have one by a "common" person.
Have what you want, where you want, or don't, and enjoy.

Tattoos do not pick people out to be ‘common’ or ‘dirty’.

I don’t like them at all, and it’s my choice not to have any. Equally, many do like them, and of course, it’s their choice to have them if they so wish.

As far as I’m concerned, most of them look quite ugly, especially when covering large parts of the body, and as they fade and skin starts to sag, I think they look even worse - but, that’s my opinion, and I know many people will totally disagree with me, as is their right to.

Surely the reply would be "I think they're..." or "Personally...".

Those making comments about dirty, common, hideous etc come over to me as judgemental. Others say they're tongue in cheek. Without knowing anyone on here personally (perhaps others do), I find that a bit of a leap.

I generally don’t have strong feelings either way re tattoos apart from when I see young women with tattooed legs.
I have a network of scars, blemishes and varicose veins on my legs, they’ve been like that since my twenties so when I see a young woman with a tattoo on her otherwise perfect skin I’m afraid I’m jealous!

My 15 yr old GD appeared with both arms and hands covered in the most beautiful flowers, leaves and foliage. I truly didn’t know what to say! Probably along the lines of “Oh my goodness”

Surely that’s a better way to decorate yrself if and when you want to without it being permanent for life.?

I try not to be judgmental but there’s a woman at my gym who has a tiny Tweetiepie tattoo on her back. Likely quite cute when it was done. Now though, The colours are blurry and the shape looks distorted. It looks such a blemish.

Weren't they offered to women who had had a breast removed.

I have to admit I don’t find any tattoo attractive.
They are so much in vogue at the moment, but like all fashions, they will soon be out of date.
What happens then? Getting rid of a tattoo isn’t easy or cheap.

My daughter has several and they look lovely, each one has a meaning for her. She's trying to get me to have one as a birthday present. I haven't agreed yet, but I might.

I can assure you all I’m neither common nor stupid. Four out of five of our children have tattoos, and as I stated earlier I have one.

Would I have another, yep, do I regret it, no! Do I hate them, no. Some tattoo artists are amazing and I simply consider them body art.

None of our dear children have them on their faces, necks or hands and they can so easily be covered up either by clothes or very good, light make up.

Incidentally it’s very rude to refer to any woman, gay or not, as “butch”.

Many lesbians would disagree with you.

Many proudly identify as butch and use the word butch because they want their preference and style to be visible and identifiable. It's a personal statement of identity.

I think you are brave really. I have a hereditary blood clotting disorder so I would bleed all day if I got one - they wouldn’t let me donate blood, either.

Honestly, the hate on here. I’ve had four tasteful tats (nature inspired) done on my forearms since I was 65 (I’m now 68)
and I love them. They’re an expression of my creative and still rebellious nature.

I'm not keen on them, but I know someone who lost a baby and had a little tattoo and picture on her hip to represent the baby so it was always with her. I thought that was lovely.

My feeling is that if people choose to have tattoos that's up to them but I dislike seeing them on someone's face and head - man or woman.

I dislike tattoos …. I’m amazed and pleased that my granddaughter has clear skin as does her Dad and they are in the minority so therefore different. My other granddaughter had loads which were horrible but what I would give to see them on her again as she passed away 3 years ago😢

I never thought I’d have one but then, when in my fifties, I changed my mind. It’s very meaningful to me.
