The sky clouded over and cooled a bit, and the absolute minimum of a shower, which didnt last long at all. So I decided to polish my halo by taking the opportunity to do some ironing. It has piled up as it has been too hot to deal with it. So I sorted it all out and set up the board and then put the steam iron on, and it wouldnt work. Have checked it in different sockets etc etc and no luck . It is dud and havent had it long. Oh well , nothing that matters really, but seems to be par for the course right now, and I am on my own , it has been good to just have a moan about it!

I don’t mind ironing and hate creased bedding, but other than that I don’t do much nowadays. My AC hardly ever iron and my DS1 and DIL don’t even possess one although they do have a steamer. My DIL favours long cotton dresses and trousers and I often think her clothes would look better with an iron, I wouldn’t dream of saying anything though. She once told me that she remembers watching her mum doing the family ironing and thought that she would never waste her time doing that. She’s probably right, but each to their own.

My ancient steam iron gave up the ghost so I had to get are new one. I chose a lightweight steam one as I have a wrist problem. I can’t believe how much easier it is to use a lightweight iron. Nothing I own needs a heavy press so I am sorted!
