God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, ‘Peace be Thine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

What beautiful words Maw. You cared for Paw so wonderfully. Take care of yourself now.

Anniebach Sat 11-Nov-17 22:45:15

Maw, I remember this from when my husband died

Although my life is left so dim,
The morning crowns the mountain-rim
Joy is not gone from summer skies
Nor innocence from children's eyes
And all of these are part of him.

Maw I found with time it is true

I like this one, though its mournful..
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

I'm so sorry for your great loss, Maw.

Lit a candle in church yesterday for your Paw and another for Annie's daughter and one for my family who are going through difficult times. Somehow a flickering light in a quiet church is so peaceful and uplifting.

Hope you are coping Maw flowers

Anniebach that is beautiful. We are all meeting tomorrow in Birmingham for DGS2’s Sixth Birthday and that little bit of Paw that lives on in the DGCs via DD will be at the forefront of my thoughts. The children go to a church school and are very accepting of the fact that Grandpa has gone to heaven to be with Jesus and if they look up at the stars they are the eyes of all the people in heaven peeping down.
Life is never easy is it - but then, nobody promised us it would be,
Thinking especially of all the service men (and women) tonight who gave their lives for their country and our freedom. They showed inspirational courage but so annie and others did those we have loved - our own unsung heroes.
Oh 5 in the morning IS a time when the grief sneaks past the protective shell of the day. X

As one of many who have had to bear the unwelcome title of 'widow', I wish you strength and courage to face the road ahead. It is not an easy journey, but, with the love and support of your family and friends, you will make it through. flowers
