I have posted on soops kitchen but would just like to tell people who know me that my dear husband died very peacefully yesterday.
We had a very long marriage of 60 years although the last 7 or so years were marred by his dementia. I was with him, holding his hand as he slipped away and I am very ,very grateful for that
I am so tired now but feel at peace with the decisions I made for his last few months .
So very sorry ann . Sincere condolences for your loss and kind thoughts for the difficult days you face. May you find comfort from the knowledge that you did right by him
I echo what everyone else has said. You were a loving supportive wife in good times and bad. I'm so glad you were with him at the end, for your sake. Sincere condolences.
annsixty - a long marriage indeed, and devoted care right to the end. You should be proud of yourself for all the wise decisions you made and care that you gave.
So sorry. It must be a time of great sorrow but also a bit of relief that the struggle is finally over - at least that’s how I felt when my poor old Mum finally passed away
I have only just found this, ann. Your husband died the day after my mother did and I had very little Gransnet contact for quite a while after that. Please accept my sincere condolences. You have had a very hard time to deal with. All best wishes.
