Hi All,
Been a while since I last visited Gransnet but I have had such sad news this morning that I had to share.
Jingles who was one of Gransnets first members sadly passed away on Thursday after recovering well from a hip replacement after a fall, but then on Wednesday she suffered a pulmonary embolism and sadly passed away in hospital.
Those of us that remember Jingle will do so with fond memories of her sparky personality and lively debate, I will miss her.

Oh, I'm so shocked and saddened to hear about Jings.

sad

Grandmashe43 Sat 13-Feb-21 14:23:56

So very sad, RIP dear Jings xxxxxx

Callistemon Sat 13-Feb-21 14:26:14

I'm shocked and saddened too.

Yes, she was sparky but she was kind and had a heart of gold.

Her permanent ban was such an error of judgement by GNHQ, she had built up online relationships with many Gransnetters and was missed by so many.

RIP Jinglbellsfrocks ?

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this. Jingl was far and away my favourite poster, so quick-witted and funny, and she never held back when it came to bringing people down a peg or two when it was warranted. Her ban was unjust, imo, and it was great to have her back for a while (even though I’m so dense she had to pm me as Gonegirl to tell me it was her!). RIP, Jingl, you’ll be sadly missed.

I too am another, who is sad to hear the news. I remember, when she accidently outed herself after she was banned.
I didn't always agree, but did enjoy reading her contributions. A sad day here. ?

Really so sad to read this, she was laugh out loud funny on many occasions and when Gone Girl emerged, she couldn't be anyone else! that irreverent style of hers came to the fore. I'm really sorry to hear that she has died, she was definitely a legend here on GN. flowers

RIP Jings.

Such sad news to hear. As Gonegirl she gave me my very first slapdown on GN, which I have to admit has stayed with me for a long time. Then on the other hand we had some wonderful interactions and I also respected her as a poster. I often wondered how she was getting along after she was banned (unfairly IMO)
RIP Jingles/Gonegirl flowers

Condolences to her family, didn't always agree with her, but the ban was unjust.

That is so sad. I always enjoyed her posts and hated the way she was treated by GNHQ. Hope you are OK glassortwo. Condolences to all her family it must have been a shock. RIP Jings x

I am so sorry and so sad , I liked her very much

So very sad to hear this. Jingles was a real character, feisty, hilarious, unpredictable. She could slap you down in a flash, but she was also one of the most caring and supportive of posters. I was so pleased to see her back as Gonegirl, the same unique posting style that we all knew and loved so well, unmistakably Jingles! Very much missed since her ban (very unfair and an overreaction on the part of the powers that be IMHO).
RIP Jinglebellfrocks, gone but never forgotten.

I've been a long-time lurker and I always enjoyed Jingl's posts, she was so entertaining and lively, a personality plus lady.

So so sorry to hear the news. We did not always see eye to eye but she was so straight about everything. Her poor family- RIP Jingl or Gonegirl.

Cherrytree59 Sat 13-Feb-21 15:02:17

Oh what sad news.
My condolences to her family.

I know Jings had her own way of posting and was quite a character, she could ruffle a few of the GGHQ feathers.

Spotting a thread, where I
had posted about being nervous about an up and coming stay in hospital, which involved an operation , Jings got in touch by PM and was very supportive whilst I was in hospital and after.

She was a kind lady, who I have always missed on GN.

I enjoyed the 'spot the Jings posts' under several noms de plume. Usually around Christmas time.
Jings also shared same birthday as my DH.

RIP Jings ?

How sad. She was a wonderful character and brought a spark to threads. Yes she pushed the boundaries ..but the world , and GN needs, people like Jingl to add the spice, be a part of life's great tapestry and to make us think!
She was a devoted and loving grandmother. My condolences to her friends and family flowers
