Keep wondering how I am going to get through the next few hours. It has been nearly four weeks since his death and seems to have taken ages to get this far. How do you cope at a time like this, the future looks like one big black hole right now.
I'm so sorry MrsQuigley there are many widows on here who've faced this awful moment. They say that grief is the price we pay for love and this is it at its very worst.
Rest assured that you probably will cope, no-one's expecting you to put on a false smile after all. Time won't really heal but will knock off most of the rough edges. It's still raw at the moment. Take care of yourself
In the beginning take one minute at a time and think “I’ve got through that”, then you’ll be able to get through an hour, then a morning, then a day. It will never be the same again but gradually you will accept the new normal. Be kind to yourself and don’t let anyone pressgang you into doing something you aren’t comfortable with.
My condolences to you both nain and mrsquigley. I'm so sorry for your loss. We're all with you in spirit, please come back and talk to us, we'll support you if you let us.
For me the secret is to be thankful for all that we had rather than think of what I have lost. DH had been so ill for years - I am grateful that he is no longer suffering and that I do not have to worry about him any more. I have so many happy memories and he lives on in the DDs & DGC that he gave me.
Sincere condolences to you both MrsQuigley and Naincc. I can only imagine what you must be going through. Sending much love and strength for the days ahead. ?
