I once went to an auction in a house about a mile way. I fancied books on a shelf that was LOT NO 60. On the day of the auction the house was full to overflowing. I squeezed into a space by the door. When I heard the word SIXTY I waved my paddle and the hammer came down. A while later when I went to collect my books I discovered I had paid £60 for what at first I thought was a shelf full of books but it turned out that I had bought ALL THE BOOKS in the shelf lined study - from floor to ceiling. Hundreds and hundreds of them. It took a lot of car trips to take them home and I have given loads to charity shops and anyone who can find something of interest among the piles in the garage, spare room etc. There was however one of interest. It was a Fake book - pages hollowed out and inside was...................................?
