This year we've featured you over 30 fantastic books for children of all ages, from babies and preschoolers - to young adults and teens. Great ideas for Christmas shopping. AND three lucky gransnetters get to win the lot...each set is worth over £350 and is sure to keep the family (and the wider family and the neighbours' kids...) happy for a very long time.
To enter the draw - which will be made at midday on Tuesday 16 December - all you have to do is answer one simple question.
What's your favourite children's book of all time?
Maybe it's one that you loved as a child. One that you read to your own children. Or one that you read with your grandchildren. Old, new, classic or little-known...we look forward to compiling a list of gransnetters all-time favourites.
The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe was magical the first time I read it as a child. The biblical references were lost on me then but recently re-reading them as an adult was magic all over again. I look forward to the day when I can read them to my three young grandchildren.
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. It was given to me by my teacher when I was 7-8 years old as a prize for coming 'top of the class' in a range of tests. This book was a real tear-jerker.
As a child it was Noddy followed by Famous Five and Secret Seven, as a teenager I loved the Dimsie books about a girl at boarding school. I was so envious. My own children and indeed grandchildren all enjoy(ed) the Ladybird Series of stories eg. The Gingerbread Man, The Enormous Turnip, The Little Red Hen etc. As a teacher I loved using Michael Morpurgo books to encourage a love of reading
I loved reading Willy The Wimp by Anthony Browne to my eldest son as it was one of his favourites. Am looking forward to reading it to his son when he is old enough - I'm so glad I kept the original!
Hairy Maclary from donaldsons dairy with all the different characters such as Schnitzel Von Krumm with the very low tum and scar faced claw their formidable opponent Love the rhyming , love the names of the characters , love the personalities and the comedy of each story
My 2 DD's,now both in their 30's,loved 'Oh,what a busy day' by Gyo Fujikawa. It had beautiful illustrations and I enjoyed reading it to them.Unfortunately, our copy was used so much,it fell apart and was lost.
