What I love about summer is going into my garden and breathing in the wonderful scent of flowers and shrubs. Always gives me a huge mental lift.

The best thing is the light, warm evenings when we can relax in the garden.

What's your favourite thing about summer? . . . . . . .sunshine and the time to enjoy it with my grandsons

Long summer evenings, blue cloudless skies, colourful flowers, mouthwatering summer fruits and berries! Time to go for walks in the countryside rounded off by a refreshing drink outside a country pub. Watching Wimbledon, reading books in the garden and generally having the opportunity to appreciate what a wonderful world we live in! Why does there seem to be more hours to fit things in?
My favourite season!

I love sitting in the back garden under a parasol reading a good book with a cold glass of squash

My favourite thing about summer is the light and being able to open the back doors to let the fresh air in.

What a wonderful collection! My favourite thing about summer is being able to relax in the garden in the evening, listening to the water flowing and the birds singing, while reading a good book and enjoying a glass of chilled wine. Bliss!

Granddaughter sleepover, waking early sleepy faced and smiley. Breakfast in the garden with all the dollies enjoying the birds whistling past and listening to her just 2 year old conversations with them about eating up. Classic and unforgettable. sunshine

The sensation of freedom, more light and warmth, less layers of clothing and cooking. The garden, however small or neglected, becomes an extra, and important, room again. Sit in the garden, sun on your face, glass, or mug, in hand, close your eyes and let your imagination soar. For a while you can imagine yourself absolutely anywhere on holiday!

My favorite thing about summer is that it makes me feel lighter! In cold weather I feel like I am hunched against the cold or bundled up in layers. I adore being able to wear a T-shirt and be warm enough.

ygtbiitwi Sat 20-Jun-15 11:46:41

Eating my own grown fruit straight from the garden.

TRACYSB Sat 20-Jun-15 12:14:27

I love the long summer days where you can sit out in the garden with a good book until 9 pm. smile The way you can go out for a long walk and not worry about what time it will get dark and the way you don't have to layer up and look like a Michelin man (well more than ever in my case lol).

sezz35 Sat 20-Jun-15 12:25:19

Warm weather and lighter evenings.

Candelle Sat 20-Jun-15 12:54:42

Opening the bedroom curtains and seeing a bright blue sky.

Being able to savour the moment of knowing I can sit and read in the garden all day long with long cold drinks, birds singing, the 'phone turned off and best of all... no 'small people' needing me that day! (Or am I a bad Granny for having such thoughts!!)
