The best thing about summer is all the amazing books that are available to read sitting in the garden or taking on holiday and lazing on the beach. You can't beat a great book.

I love summer because I find it so relaxing to spend even a short while outside, either playing with animals, doing a bit of gardening, or sitting out and enjoying a book whilst eating lunch.

The best thing i love about summer is when the sun is out and it's nice and warm, everybody is so much nicer and they have the time to stop and chat instead of haring about.

Light mornings when you can hear the birds singing so early - sitting outside with a cup of tea and listening to the day start and wondering how it will end

picnics in the park with my daughter, a good book, and strawberries in season..so much sweeter..

It's so liberating to just grab your bag and go, instead of having to wrap up in layers of clothes before leaving the house!

My favourite time of year. Is it because my birthday is at the end of June so I have memories of parties in the garden and ice cream cake?
Maybe. But above all it's the warmth which relaxes me and means I can pop on a dress and I'm done. No tights so I can paint my toenails and get my legs brown.
I love sitting in the garden among the flowers and reading so I'd love to win this fabulous collection!

I love the smell of summer, cut grass, bbq's and people have a good laugh outside with their families.

Summer. Out in the garden with the bees and butterflies and the weeds but more daylight hours to deal with them.

Long evenings on the porch with a glass of wine and a good book

The late evenings and early mornings when I can read in bed in natural light, feel warm and enjoy the outdoors whether in the town or country or just in our rose bedecked garden.

Our village fete. Held every year on our local cricket field on Wimbledon Finals day. The sun always shines, the afternoon teas are amazing. We're in the middle of fields and hills with a view to die for. Not a road in sight, but a train chugging by in the distance on the half hour. There are book stalls, bottle stalls, tombolas. Pony rides and races for the children. A tug of war. Performances by the local ballet school and junior school choirs. A huge raffle, a beer tent, village bingo. The smell of newly mown grass.

I always feel as though I'm in the middle of an Agatha Christie novel without the gore and Miss Marple will come pottering round the corner at any moment. smile

I love evening summer walks in our nearby countryside, listening to the birds singing and seeing the sky slowly change colour as twilight approaches.

My favourite thing in summer is the first bite of the peach I picked in our garden. I enjoy picking blackberries too and make a smoothie or bake a cake with them.

Mads Fri 19-Jun-15 23:55:24

Just listening to birds in full song and bees just buzzing around. Everything feels so alive.

The warmth, sick of the cold weather, putting coat scarf gloves on etc.
Love the fact you can go out without your winter woolies.
