The best thing about the summer is having picnics! We take out dogs down to the lake with friends have a walk and watch them play and swim. When everyone is tired out we all settle down (try and stop the dogs wetting the blankets) and enjoy our picnic.

I love the lighter nights!

I love to potter about in the garden pruning and picking flowers,fruit and vegetables!

family holidays - quality family time away from everything - it doesn't matter where we go as long as we get a break and a chance to make some memories

The best thing about summer is...that my husband and I 'do' summer in the winter! As a busy Rapid Response Practitioner (Urgent care nurse) working full time, I hold back from booking holiday during the British summer so my colleagues can have the school holidays with their families.

As my wonderful daughter and husband (equally wonderful!) live in New Zealand with our beautiful granddaughter we try to visit early January (when all the UK schools are back in business after the Christmas break) and it's the summer holidays in NZ. My daughter, being a teacher, is also on holiday so it's perfect for us all.

I have recently finished studying for a course and it's so good to read for pleasure after such a long time!

My favourite thing about summer is being able to have the doors and windows wide open. The sunshine, fresh air and sound of birds flows through the house and it's absolutely wonderful.

Seeing the wee ones race about and have water fights... it reminds me of when my sisters used to have water fights when supposed to be washing the car! lol

Ooo, lots of things, the light morning and lighter evenings. The warmer weather and lighter clothing, being able to get my feet out of winter boots. The summer food - lovely fresh fruits and salads (helps my waistline!). Days out on the beach and summer walks. Everybody generally seems happier and more relaxed - it certainly boosts my mood.

Going on holiday to a different cottage each year in the uk and when we arrive going in first and taking a photo of each room before anyone else gets in and messes it up.

Spending time with the family due to long holidays and family BBQ's. I also love the way people's moods change when it is nice weather - everyone seems so much more happy

I love the lighter evenings and warmer weather to make the most of the garden, just to having a relaxing moment with a book or enjoying a BBQ with family and friends … pure bliss x

I love the longer days and the fact that I can have all the windows open in the house, I love fresh air blowing through the house.
