The best thing about Summer is the light nights. In Winter I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. In Summer I get to take the dog for a longer walk in the morning and I get to relax in the garden after work - Summer brings quality me time!

Wow, first of all, what an absolutely amazing collection of books! I am an avid book collector and reader so this prize is a dream come true!

What I love most about the summer are the lovely light and warm summer evenings. There is nothing nicer than after a very busy and stressful day in work, to come home, clamber into my gardening gear and spend a very relaxing and satisfying hour or two in the garden! This will of course be followed by a glass of wine, on the patio, surveying my hard work!

I love having the family around for BBQ's, enjoying days out with the family at lovely National Trust properties, gardens and the zoo!

The freedom the warmer weather gives me to take my children out for day trips to the beach or the park.

Fresh raspberries and sitting in the garden with a good book, and having my Granddaughters to myself for a whole week.

My favourite thing about summer is watching my grandchildren playing happily in the garden. It's great to see kids outside in the fresh air instead of sitting in front of the tv.

My best thing is people smile a little more and become a little less rude - working in a shop this leads to many more pleasant days.

Wow - what a large selection of books - will certainly keep someone busy for a while.

I love the longer days, as for some reason, they seem to make the season feel like it is the longest.

well what a wonderful selection of books now this would keep me busy all summer long. My favourite thing about summer has to be family picnics there is no better feeling than being in the warmth of the sunshine & the sound of the children playing happily ....Bliss thank you for the chance to win x

With the lighter evenings there seems to be more hours in the day. So more time to socialise and catch up with family and friends. And plans are not normally rained off, although with the British weather you can't guarantee it. X

My favourite thing about summer is the sunshine. It always makes everyone happier and friendlier and we can spend more time outdoor. :-)

My most favourite thing about this summer in particular, is that 10 days ago I finally gave up the job that had become horrible - I am now looking forward to actually noticing that summer is here, the seasons hardly registered with me before when stuck in a miserable office. To win these books would be my idea of heaven and I'd actually have time to read them. WooHoo!!!

I love the effect of summer sunshine on peoples' moods and attitudes - so refreshing smile x

mysticwen Wed 15-Jul-15 12:00:49

the long light summer days, walks and picnics in the countryside, the fabulous birds that visit my birdtable and the burst of colour in my flower borders

tricia153 Wed 15-Jul-15 12:03:25

I love the warm weather. My 15 month old Grandson has the freedom to run around in the Park and really enjoy himself. I am also really looking forward to taking him to the seaside next week and letting him see the sea and sand for the very first time smile

Ditto most of the previous comments, plus I'm going to lower the tone and add that some of my favourite things about summer are cheaper energy bills, less cars at commuter time because of school holidays, feeling virtuous because I do more gardening, less clothes to take off and put on when I go swimming and no school governor documents to read!!!

cmcpne Wed 15-Jul-15 12:36:33

Oh my favourite thing has to be the light sunny mornings when we can sit out enjoying our early coffee and admire the garden.

GRIFTERASSASIN Wed 15-Jul-15 13:47:36

What I like about summer is picnics in the park with the missus & my daughter. Ice-creams, lollipops & boating lakes.

lizm Wed 15-Jul-15 15:14:49

My favourite thing is the light evenings, especially if they are warm enough to sit out for dinner.. lovely

lighty Wed 15-Jul-15 16:55:43

What is not to like - the sun streaming through the window early morning - washing hanging on the line - the garden flourishing with colour -albeit yellow grass !!! And the best yet a long cool G & T with a long hot book!!!! Bliss !!
