How many others would be interested in reading Harry & Meghan's biography as I would ?

Anniebach Mon 04-May-20 09:42:24

Good grief , it’s embarrassing

Cherrytree59 Mon 04-May-20 09:46:00

It will probably be more of a Woke pamphlet than an a actual book.
Full of Me, Myself and I.hmm

Jhardy Mon 04-May-20 09:47:09

I don’t give a what they do as long as the British taxpayer isn’t funding it. We need clarity as to their funding status but must if all we should completely ignite their misplaced grandstanding

Jhardy Mon 04-May-20 09:47:29

Ignore NOT ignite!!

Kalu Mon 04-May-20 09:59:01

You couldn’t make it up!

Even if it was free on Kindle I have no wish to read what ‘difficulties’ they have had to bear.

eazybee Mon 04-May-20 10:43:23

Trash.
I would waste neither the time nor the money, and that goes for most celebrity biographies.
They should be written at the end of a life, when primary sources can be investigated and compared.

maddyone Mon 04-May-20 10:46:58

Annecan

I think I feel sick too.

‘.....to create a new path away from the spotlight.....’ I wouldn’t be able to believe it if it wasn’t in front of me. How can anyone describe themselves as being away from the spotlight when several times a week their ‘friends’ tell the whole world what they’re doing? And then they follow it up with a book release to tell the entire world about what victims they are, and how they’re going to save the world. Give me strength!

maddyone Mon 04-May-20 10:57:31

I agree eazybee, when these kinds of books are written they simply aim to justify the protagonist’s actions, to promote them in a positive way, and to make money.
A real biography would deal with the whole life of the person, including any particularly important events, so for example, the life of Winston Churchill or other important historical figures. These two simply want to whine about how badly they were treated and promote themselves as to how they’re about to change the world.
I’m getting more and more fed up of hearing about them. I wish they’d disappear into the private life they said they wanted. Writing a book doesn’t seem to fulfill the aim of privacy does it?

grandMattie Mon 04-May-20 11:09:41

Someon once suggested that this was going to be a “university marriage”, meaning it lasts three years and ends with a bad 3rd.
When I saw the shenanigans that H&M were starting including “what Meg wants, Meg gets” I commented to DH that it appeared to be going by the way of the Windsors...
With poor Harry now reaping what he self-indulgently sowed, it’s hard to feel sympathy. Exasperation more like...

Anniebach Mon 04-May-20 11:11:16

It is not ‘Harry Speak’. Has to be Meg

Grannynannywanny Mon 04-May-20 11:12:38

Perhaps they’ll go down the route of many z-list celebrities and this will just be their first autobiography.
A female z-lister in UK who craves attention, whether good or bad, has released 6 autobiographies and she’s only 40.
As long as they have enough cash to pay their PR team who will continue to tell them how wonderful they are then the bull** will keep coming

timetogo2016 Mon 04-May-20 11:14:40

You couldn`t pay me to have/read it.
I would rather watch grass grow.

GrannyLaine Mon 04-May-20 11:25:09

merlotgran your summary of the story so far is spot on. Made me laugh. grin

Framilode Mon 04-May-20 11:34:33

Brilliant Merlotgran. Sums it all up in such a funny way. That's what we need to do, laugh at them.

eazybee Mon 04-May-20 11:41:13

For some reason I was thinking recently that a true biography will not be published within my lifetime, as state papers are not released for at least thirty years, usually longer.

Being a thoroughly nasty person, I would love to know exactly what was said at that meeting between the Queen, Prince Charles, William and Harry.

Anniebach Mon 04-May-20 12:00:46

eazybee* it’s not nasty , I would love to know what was said too
?

Rosalyn69 Mon 04-May-20 12:09:03

Me three. smile

Jabberwok Mon 04-May-20 12:37:21

I can't begin to describe how dreadful I think these two are! As for reading this junk, I'd rather watch paint dry -permanently!! 'How to humiliate your elderly Grandparents and other family! A vipers guide!! ' How can Prince Harry be so vengeful towards people who have loved him, and whom he presumably loved! His own brother, nephews, niece! He's got to have been brain washed, it's the only explanation. I can't think that he will ever be welcome here again even on his own. It's far worse than the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The Duke certainly didn't trash his family in public by writing rubbish books, referring to his family as toxic, or deliberately humiliating his brother and his family, or trashing us parents. These two are quite beyond me!

SueDonim Mon 04-May-20 13:44:47

Finding Freedom? Is it a sequel to Free Willie?

maddyone Mon 04-May-20 13:45:19

Jabberwok
I agree with you again. I wish these two would just disappear and get on with the ‘private’ life they said they wanted. I would never buy or read the book. I wouldn’t buy it because I don’t want to give them so much as a penny in profit, and I wouldn’t read it because I simply don’t think they’ve got anything remotely interesting to say.

EllanVannin Mon 04-May-20 14:06:38

They need something to do----like a proper job !

FoghornLeghorn Mon 04-May-20 14:07:49

Finding Freedom! How bloody dramatic. Anyone would think they were Nelson Mandela on Robben Island. Imo, the pair of them are pathetic. I really wish the media would take them at their word and give them all the privacy they desire. Or say they do. ?

FoghornLeghorn Mon 04-May-20 14:11:20

This is too funny, feeling sorry for the Royal
Family...children are hungry, people are losing their jobs, their houses , people are dying
I would suggest that you save your sympathy for those most deserving of it
They are adequately catered for

Don’t know about you Dolly but I’m capable of feeling sympathy for more than one person at a time.

Sparklefizz Mon 04-May-20 14:13:38

Jabberwok It's far worse than the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The Duke certainly didn't trash his family in public by writing rubbish books, referring to his family as toxic, or deliberately humiliating his brother and his family, or trashing us parents. These two are quite beyond me!

I totally agree.

SueDonim I love the "Free Willie" comment. That's what's got him into this mess in the first place. grin He's been too free with it.

merlotgran Mon 04-May-20 14:23:32

Cheer up, folks. Meg's thinking of relaunching her defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig.

In it she shares some of her favourite things, food, travel, fashion, beauty, politics and inspirational women. So just like Gransnet really but without our wisdom and humour grin

DH got all excited until I pointed out that Top Gear hasn't offered her a job.
