How many others would be interested in reading Harry & Meghan's biography as I would ?

Bluecat Tue 05-May-20 14:16:50

I am a republican, so I don't give a toss about their lives. I doubt that I would read their book if it was given to me for free.

I know people say we should no longer fund Harry and Megan. Is there much difference between them and the other royals? They live in the USA, the others live here, but what difference does that make to us? It's not like any of us pop round regularly to have a cup of tea with Charles and Camilla, and would like to visit H&M to see their holiday snaps.

Presumably part of the supposed difference is that H&M no longer carry out their royal duties. Again, who cares? The others can't be doing their usual visits, etc, and has it made any difference to anyone at all?

What I am saying is why fund one bunch of freeloaders and not another?

eazybee I agree with you, but Charles didn’t do any
‘Public airing ‘ of the marriage or of his ex wife.

The most I can recall him saying was his relationship with
Camilla started after his marriage had broken down, by relationship I mean affair, Camilla and her first husband were
always friends with the royals, Andrew PB use to date Anne.

If someone gave me a free copy I could put the pages down on the floor at night in case the dogs have an accident!

Merlogran, it’s perfect!!! No need to read the book.
They have become even more ridiculous. Poor little Archie... Please don’t have another sprog.6

Goodness, what nasty personal comments directed at two people you don't even know! What is the matter with you? I bet those who are saying the worst on here are the same ones who were teary-eyed and joyful at their wedding only a few short years ago. Can we be a bit more grown-up and balanced in attitude? None of know what went on or how it is for them. Try not to be so ridiculously Daily Mail, for heaven's sake, especially when taking the deeply misogynistic stance that it's all Meghan's fault. You really can't even begin to know.

Granny23 Tue 05-May-20 15:05:34

Oh well - the blurb describes Harry as a "beloved English Prince". Nothing to do with me then. No need to worry, condemn, sympathise or read anything about them. Good.

Bridgeit Tue 05-May-20 15:06:50

Well said Paperbackwriter, & didn’t Piers Morgan have an axe to grind? MAIL(Male)icious

sarahellenwhitney Tue 05-May-20 15:07:43

This has to be all about 'No one asked me how I am'
Were Prince Harry to write about his life in the years following the death of his mother now that is one book I would certainly want to read.

Izzipop Tue 05-May-20 15:13:56

No way. Haven’t we given them enough money already with a super wedding and the renovation of Frogmore cottage!!! It’s time they discovered how us lesser mortals live. They don’t seem to care about anyone else Poor Prince Charles having to foot their security bill.

Lucca Tue 05-May-20 15:18:24

Paperbackwriter..... no chance ! this is the gift that keeps on giving (opportunities to moan and carp and frankly to be rather catty) as far as GN ers are concerned.

Beau1958 Tue 05-May-20 15:29:14

No I definitely wouldn’t waste my money,
all they are doing is trying to justify their actions. She wants the Hollywood glamour, not opening schools and such the like in boring Britain no that wouldn’t suit her at all. Can’t stand her !

Daisyboots Tue 05-May-20 15:30:17

Neilspurgeon my DH is ex army and the army guys used to think such lot of Harry especially those with PTSD. But now none of them want anything to do with him.

Emptynester Tue 05-May-20 15:37:44

Not even if I was paid to read it!

I think their behaviour is despicable and an ongoing insult to the Queen.

Anniebach Tue 05-May-20 15:47:57

If some posters are considered ‘rather catty’ for criticising Meg, the very same can be said of those who criticise posters .

Jishere Tue 05-May-20 16:19:21

Piers did have an axe to grind because of the way Harry's grand mother was treated.
Harry was very likeable in this country but we haven't gained a princess we have lost a prince. How can anyone's view be any different? Would you prefer Paperbackwriter we swept it under the carpet, and pretend we didn't have some kind of loyalty to the country that I for one was born in. It's not about liking them or slagging them down its being proud to be British. So yes in there choice for privacy they have let me down for one.
The title of book suggests they were under alot of duress. Which I doubt neither of them know what extreme duress is.So this book is already painting a picture of them as victims which they most certainly are not.

sarahellenwhitney Tue 05-May-20 16:24:34

Merlotgran
Not much to laugh at these days that is until I read your comment
This will be a short book

Xxjanexx Tue 05-May-20 16:31:15

No definitely not...I’m not interested in the selfish buggers 1 bit.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 05-May-20 16:35:25

Is this a book all about what the papers have been saying for years? - Read it!

Jabberwok Tue 05-May-20 16:38:59

So, what is this balanced attitude?!!! I can't think of one action taken by these two that can even begin to balance out the hurt, disrespect and greed these two have incurred both to their families and to the British public. I think newspapers apart from the DM have been loud in their disgust at the antics of these two seekers of privacy or did they mean privilege!!! Particularly at the proposed publication of this book!

Edithb Tue 05-May-20 17:11:20

They are hardly free when they are relying financially on the Prince of Wales and probably the U.K. taxpayers. Outrageous hypocrisy.

Missiseff Tue 05-May-20 17:11:54

No!

Anniebach Tue 05-May-20 17:13:38

Harry and Meg have named - The Sun, The Mirror, The Mail
and the Express as newspapers they will no longer cooperate
With, so they did cooperate before this announcement,
oh dear, another announcement,

Kleberty2 Tue 05-May-20 17:26:50

I’d rather read a book of full stops which would be far more interesting than reading about H&M.

merlotgran Tue 05-May-20 17:31:33

What exactly do they mean my no longer co-operate?

Surely, once something is in the public domain H&M can't stop a tabloid repeating the story as long as they credit the original source?

They can't introduce their own censorship.

merlotgran Tue 05-May-20 17:32:08

by not my
