This book feels to me as though it’s going to be the the last one about the past from Harry or Meghan, and I’ll be glad when the book’s out, everybody’s read it, commented and complained, the fallout is dealt with and we can all move forward, them included, with nothing more to be said.

I thought he’d signed a three book deal so I doubt we’ll get it all at once. 🤔

Oh no, I didn’t know that - how much more there can be to say? If I’m honest, the whole circus of it bores me - I’m not into celebrity exposes, whoever it is.

11unicorn You like Harry and Meghan ! You don't set your bar high do you ? I personally can't abide liars and those 2 don't do truth.

I don't have strong feelings about either of them. There are a lot of people in the world I dislike more. One of them is Harry's Uncle Andy, who if I were the late Queen I would be much more distressed by than her grandson and his wife.

Can you tell me what untruths they have wilfully and knowingly told? Are you absolutely sure none of them could be more accurately construed as differences of perspective?

I agree. There is a hell of a lot of anti H&M bias on GN. Which is always excused with what is seen to be as evidence, which is actually just opinion.

I think the title is funny and shows his sense of humour.

Heir and Spare doesn't just refer to the Royal Family. In the days when many children died early it was prudent for anyone with property or a business to pass on to father as many children as possible. Preferably boys who could inherit, and continue the family line.
I'm sick of the Harry and Megan saga, which is continually fired up by headlines in the press. When the book comes out it will be dissected and discussed ad infinitum. I doubt that many people will bother to buy it. With luck Harry and Megan will retire to lick their wounds after its abject financial failure, and find something better to do in order to earn a living.

Mm, you could try

“The Royal family literally cut me off financially”.

The accounts of the then Prince Charles show this to be untrue to several millions.

You’d need a pretty warped perspective to forget to count millions🤔

It won’t be an ‘abject financial failure’ GreenGran.

I'm appalled by this attitude. If anything he should be relieved! As 'Spare', he has all the trappings of wealth and could do so much in life to promote the things he wants to, but without the 'restraint' if he wants to call it that, of being an heir to the throne.

Well, he's still in line but after William and his three children.
Then come Archie and Lilibet.
Then Andrew.

Spare also means angry, of course. Or maybe he will 'spare' readers/ his family/himself any embarrassment in this book.

The we got married in the garden a few days before
The i didn't have a clue who Harry was
The i haven't seen my sister in 18 year
The i had to fund myself through college
The i never gave Omid Scobie any help
And the list goes on

I don't expect anyone to agree but I feel a bit sorry for Harry. He obviously has unresolved issues that he hasn't been able to work through.

lemsip Sat 29-Oct-22 22:06:04

yes, meghan pointed out to him all those unresolved issues he didn't know he had till she told him

I hope he doesn't read GN. It won't help him. I'm not a supporter of the royal family but he's a human being too.

I agree, I said that earlier.

He obviously doesn't realise because he could well afford to seek help.
This is not the best way to resolve those issues, he will only make them worse.

In my humble opinion.

lemsip Sat 29-Oct-22 22:52:45

just heard this;

The Duke of Sussex’s long-awaited memoir titled Spare bears striking similarities to the autobiography of tennis star Andre Agassi, which was written by the same ghost writer....https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2022/10/27/prince-harrys-memoir-strikingly-similar-andre-agassis-written/
even the style of picture on the front cover

Joseanne Sat 29-Oct-22 23:09:44

I'm a bit confused how a ghost writer has written the memoir, yet Harry will read the book himself in an audio version?
I think I might prefer to do the listening option because we might glean more from his intonation and tone of voice.

nadateturbe Sat 29-Oct-22 23:10:13

This is not the best way to resolve those issues, he will only make them worse.

It's not, I agree.
Sadly some people aren't able to work through issues from their past, even with help.
It won't end well, imho.

hollysteers Sat 29-Oct-22 23:16:03

Mug shot/hostage cover…
We are not “lynching” him Volver, any fool knows that if you stick your head above the parapet you have to take what comes.

As said many times before, the Queen Mother (not my favourite) played the royal game cunningly, never uttering a public word and drinking, gambling our money away for decades.
