I had no idea Germany/Greeks were involved in the removable of Jews to the death Camps and a wonderful story the fashion and sewing talioring industry etc in Thessolonica
What did i learn at school in our history lessons nothing about nothing really 1066 and all that romans few bits about Kings and Queens of England
Alsp Micheal Morporgo The Butter Fly Lion and Toro Toro and Private Peaceful Short stories but wonderful reads !! Enjoy everyone looking for a good summer read.

I have just finished the last, first the moment, of Rachel McLean’s Dorset Murder Stories; Gold Hill. Easy reading but a constant but evolving set of mostly police characters and developing back story throughout the series.

I can't recommend David Nicholls more highly and I've just read the Prostrate Years - very funny

My recent read was “ Hello Beautiful” by Ann Napolitano which I loved!
My favourite author is John Boyne and his Elements set of books are brilliant!
The Names by Florence Knapp made me hold my breath in places!
Strangely, our book group enjoyed “ I Who Have Never Known Men “ a dystopian novel which has been republished ! I love to read!
My current on is “ The Calamity Club “ by Kathryn Stockett who wrote “ The Help” . This is just as good

I’m reading The Secrets of Dragonfly Lodge by Rachel Hore, and enjoying it very much. I think I’ve read all of her books and enjoyed them all.

I have just returned from my holiday and took my kindle with me for convenience, which gave me a chance to try a variety of genres and authors. One author l have newly discovered is Jo Leever and I can particularly recommend The Museum of Second Chances. If you like detective stories, l can also recommend Tim Sullivan and his DS George Cross series.

I'm reading Tombland, a historical mystery novel by C.J.Sansom. I love anything set in the Tudor era. It's part of his Shardlake series. A Tudor 'whodunit'! Of course I've read them all before but it's long enough ago to make me want to read it again..

I have just read all the DS George Cross series and loved it. We have a family member on the spectrum and he writes about it so well. I particularly like that George Cross is a fully functioning person with a responsible job, so often people on the spectrum are portrayed as too weird for work. Our family member excels at his career, all the more so because of his Aspergers Syndrome.

Eleanor by Alice Loxton who traces and walks the 200 mile route Eleanor of Castile’s cortège took from Lincoln to London .
Some of you may live near Eleanor crosses and the author is a mine of information not only on the history of the book but the countryside.
A lovely read.

Anything by Kristin Hannah. I have read nearly all her books and enjoyed them all immensely !

I really like her books too. My favourite is The Women , much of the book is set during the Vietnam war .

I have read all of Alexander McCall Smith's books. Love them all, and wish he would write more.

May I suggest ThoseWe have Loved also by Victoria Hislop.
A real eye opener set at the beginning of the 1940s and following the Greek Civil war. I won’t say any more, but I found it an incredible read.

I hadn’t read ^In the time of five pumpkins” and it suddenly appeared as a 90p Kindle book.
They make really good listening as well.

If you like timeslip books then I think you should enjoy “Life after Life” by Kate Atkinson. I didn’t think I would enjoy it but was persuaded to persevere by reading reviews. I actually had to retrieve it from my charity shop box and I’m so glad I did. It gave me much to think about, especially when the central character relates her experiences during the war which I found really moving.

Kristin Hannah., loved everyone, I can’t wait for her next book

Another I enjoyed years ago as a holiday read was
‘ The Time Travellers wife ‘ can’t remember who wrote it .

Eve Chase 's books are great, especially Black Rabbit Hall.
