Remembrance Sunday

In honour of my father I never miss the Remembrance Sunday Service at the cenotaph. Today has been no exception but as I watched I noticed one of our politicians, I believe he was there on behalf of the SNP, without a "programme" and who did not join in with any of the hymns, prayers or the national anthem.
I am a firm believer that how people conduct themselves and what they believe in is their business but this man looked like he didn't want to be there and his behaviour was not in the spirit of the occasion. Today's gathering, as always, is to respect and remember our forebears. This man looked churlish and disrespectful. I wish he'd stayed at home and allowed someone who really did want to pay their respects attend in his place.

11 th of November is a day to remember and pay respect to those who fought and sometimes died fighting on behalf of our countries. I had a father flying aircraft plus a mother and many other relatives in the RAF. Some died. I would thank people to reserve their petty squabbles for another time and place. What’s wrong with you ?

👏👏👏

I've noticed even if you agree with someone on here and express approbation then it is questioned.

Allira I am afraid that when talking about Nigel Farage and spending the whole day in Normandy for D Day, you replied
“Oh goodness. Well done “
Which confused me but Nanna 8 objected etc. Nigel Farage spends every D Day in Normandy as a matter of course. It seems. I don’t think he sees it as anything unusual. Etc

Was Starmer there?

Of course he was, all day.
It was Sunak who came home early and criticised for it

I’m wondering why, given that the SNP and Plaid Cymru have an arrangement to be represented together, why other smaller parties couldn’t be represented together. So the Greens, Reform, and any Independents could be represented by one MP each year, possibly taking turns to be the actual representative.
It might make everyone feel their party or themselves if Independent, feel they were represented at the Cenotaph.
