My 4yr grandson informed me that 'when he won the pottery he was going to buy a sniffer dog called Snif and help the police catch bad men!'

My daughter tried on a shirt in M&S yesterday. 3 year old says "I don't like that on you mummy, it's what Grannies wear"!!! Yes, I am an M & S freak but daughter said it wasn't what I'd wear so where has this come from at such an early age?

Me to Grand-daughter: Let's see if Mummy is available."
GD aged 3: Mummy is not A Vailable, she's my mummy

My friend's 3 year old GD when asked which Ice Lolly she would like replied, 'A frozen one'!

Seagran Thu 18-Aug-11 22:08:26

My 3 Yr old GS told me he loved me more than a tractor!

em Thu 18-Aug-11 22:25:07

Wow Seagran that's a lotta love. My GS is 2 and a bit and I know how highly he regards tractors! However his favourite right now has to be the Fire Engine followed by the Police car! Am sure he'd approve of Janthea's GS's ideas.

By the way 'pottery' is not a typo for 'lottery'.

Yesterday my grandson was listening in to a phone call his dad was having, and making funny comments (like they do hmm).

So, I said to him that some people had been listening to other people's phone calls and had got told off very much by the Government! And some of them got sent to prison!!

His face fell for all of ten seconds and then he said, "Oh yes! Phone hacking!"

How does a six year old get to know about these things?! grin

Butternut Wed 07-Dec-11 10:47:37

Clever lad, like his granny! grin

Granddaughter 3 was eating some freshly picked cherries and said 'they were the best cherries I never had.' smile

When my son was two and a half, he watched me preparing the turkey for the oven, and urged me to 'fly it, mummy!'

After hearing the computer announcement saying that we were at Turnham Green yesterday my grandson looked around in the carriage and asked if we were turning green yet.

NannaAnna Wed 07-Dec-11 23:13:01

Not mine, but a neighbour's daughter (I spent the night, when mum had gone into labour with baby 2)
Told her in the morning that mummy had had a baby girl, and was she happy to have a new baby sister?
"Hmmm. I'd rather have a rabbit" she replied grin

This one will only make sense to cbeebies viewers. My 2 year old gs thinks that Mr tumble dryer, dries their laundry.

Carol Thu 08-Dec-11 21:52:53

My grandchildren love Mr Tumble!

crimson Thu 08-Dec-11 22:11:11

My grandson is ok with Mr Tumble now, but was terrified oh him when he was 2. Never worked out why.

harrigran Thu 08-Dec-11 22:35:51

My GD associates anything spotty with Mr Tumble

Granny23 Thu 08-Dec-11 23:26:50

My DGC have never had a chance to get to know Mr Tumble as DDs and I are agreed that there is something creepy about him. Can't quite put our fingers on it but we all feel the same.

Carol Fri 09-Dec-11 08:02:29

Oh, poor Mr Tumble! Justin Fletcher is a marvellous children's entertainer and has received a BAFTA for his efforts - if you watch him communicating so well with children who have special needs you'll be a fan, too!

I was looking for a thread about things GC say, and thought I would revive this one, though the previous posts are mostly about Mr Tumble!

My GD, aged 10 was asked by her father if she knew who the Prime Minister was.

Answer: David Walliams? David Hasselhoff?

At least she got the first name right!

Culbie Thu 31-Jan-13 23:00:53

My granddaughter, solemnly, "I have finished my supper Gran
Gran; I ate it all up so that I could be big and fat like you."

I weigh ten stone!

Nonu Thu 31-Jan-13 23:11:23

Think Mr Trumble is marvellous , shame on you for thinking otherwise .

Granny23 Thu 31-Jan-13 23:33:14

I suppose that is me getting a telling off Nonu but every one is entitled to their own opinion surely. I do not have bad thoughts about MT just a bad feeling and you know how we are always being told to trust our instincts......?

We were on holiday in Falmouth and looking at a map of the area posted up on a notice board. My son pointed to the words "You are Here" and, in an amazed voice, said "How do they know we're here Mum?"

Eleanorre Sat 02-Mar-13 22:20:46

Chickenpox was rife in the nursery where GD goes. Her daddy had a look at her ans told her he did not thing she had got it. Gd had a think and then said '' well maybe we can buy some''
