What is every one planning to do this soggy Bank Holiday? There is no question that there will be no BBQs and not much gardening happening. I am happily resigned to the fact that I will be firmly planted on the sofa, knitting and watching TV. Actually am feeling quite bleurgh at the moment, so sounds great to me ;0

Reading my files for the next weeks work!

Going to a May Fair put on by the local Round Table (or Lions or something).

Bloomin' weather. sad

imjingl Fri 04-May-12 16:10:54

They are having performing Llamas.

Hope the bleurgh feeling dissipates soon. I am doing some catching up with all the stuff (and people) that has been happening in the past six weeks while I have been on the other side of the world. I hate filing, so it will probably take the whole weekend. Tomorrow is my birthday so I look forward to being pampered older.

Llama Agility Racing, eh? Still none the wiser.....

tanith Fri 04-May-12 16:55:04

Its sounding awful, cold and wet.. no sure what we'll be doing but certainly won't be going far and maybe even have to turn on the heating ... horror of horrors it is May isn't it? Hope it bucks up before we go for a few days away in June..

imjingl Fri 04-May-12 16:56:07

Well, neither am I! hmm

I'm not sure about the 'fun crowd interaction bit though! If one comes near me......!

Just wanted to say that it is a lovely sunny bank holiday day in Scotland so not damp and miserable everywhere. (I know that makes a change!)

Anagram Fri 04-May-12 17:10:15

wisewoman, it isn't until Monday! I know Scotland is ahead of us in some things, but...grin

gracesmum Fri 04-May-12 17:15:51

North of the international date line, it seems, anagran!
I wish I could get excited about Bank holidays, but in teaching they were always (nearly always) part of school holidays/half term holidays and now that I am retired I don't notice the difference except the roads are busier. sad
Oh and you can count on it raining.

Annobel Fri 04-May-12 17:27:34

I don't know if this is one of them, but Scotland does have different public holidays from England and they often differ between cities.

Anagram Fri 04-May-12 17:38:26

Surely not on a Friday, Annobel?

nanakate Fri 04-May-12 17:54:00

I'll be getting wet, no doubt about it! Tomorrow a five mile walk with my old running chums, a good excuse for a bacon and egg sandwich afterwards. Sunday a wedding at an open-air museum (! shoes !) and Monday a plant sale at Weston Park. I'm just going to pretend it's early March and not May at all.

wisewoman Fri 04-May-12 20:21:09

Sorry, I thought you meant Bank Holiday weekend! It is only Friday but the sun is shining so I am happy.

Anagram Fri 04-May-12 20:43:50

smile wisewoman!

At the bounce and play with my grand daughter. But we seem to have done that to death this year!

DH is gardening in his woolly hat. I am cooking a hot lunch. The central heating is blasting away. And the forecast for May is dire!

We are going to a 70th birthday party in a marquee tomorrow and our hostess wants us to stay all day. DH would prefer to come home early and snuggle up at home. I shall wear thermals and lots of layers and hope there'll be enough red wine to see me through the day. Should be fun though hmm.

But I really am bored with trying to be "British" about our foul weather. Ex-pats really do have a point ... wine

lujaha Sat 05-May-12 12:51:18

Its raining in Italy as well!! (sad) but the (wine) is excellent

lujaha Sat 05-May-12 12:53:09

I haven't got square brackets on my laptop !

I've just taken delivery of my latest DVD from amazon, one of our dinosaurs is missing.
The children and husband and I, used to love watching it on tape! Now long gone!
The nannies always made me laugh, they'll make me think of all of us!
Perhaps a venue for a future party? Ie, the natural history museum?
