What is every one planning to do this soggy Bank Holiday? There is no question that there will be no BBQs and not much gardening happening. I am happily resigned to the fact that I will be firmly planted on the sofa, knitting and watching TV. Actually am feeling quite bleurgh at the moment, so sounds great to me ;0

Are you sure lujaha?!

They're the key next to that arrow with a little tail, that takes you down to the next line.

{ these are on top
[ are underneath (use those)

imjingl Sat 05-May-12 13:10:28

I mean the arrow under the delete key.

Keyboards differ, jingl, apart from the qwerty keys. The square brackets on mine are to the left of the return key. My sister complained that the @ key on my laptop was 'in the wrong place'. What a nerve!

And if your laptop is set for US usage, symbols on some keys are transposed!
(You can set it to UK though)

Children from the village school do Maypole dancing on the green every year - traditionally they turn a pale shade of blue with hypothermia and this year seems to be no exception.
Stew's in the oven, hot soup and hot rolls for today's lunch, heating on, new book on my Kindle and winter drawers on and I am ready for the Bank Holiday weekend.
We are indeed under no illusions - more like under the duvetgrin

On mine, I tap the 123 key followed by the up arrow key!

Anagram Sat 05-May-12 13:58:09

confused The 123 key jeni? Is that on an i-pad or some-such?

Annobel Sat 05-May-12 13:59:45

lujaha, you are most likely completely confused by now. If you can't find square brackets, try copying and pasting from the emoticons at the end of the thread.

jeni Sat 05-May-12 13:59:56

Indeedy!

Anagram Sat 05-May-12 14:11:24

hmm
(copied and pasted)
Well, I'll be blowed! It works! grin

I had hoped to get out in the garden at least - but it's so cold and every now and then a few cold spots of rain. Any seeds planted have long since died of being water logged - any plants planted out to harden off are not doing well at all. This is usually a very busy time of year garden wise. Instead here I am on my laptop, listening to Radio 4 waiting for the play to start. Oh I've also made a batch of chocolate chip and nut cookies, wonderful smell, anyone wanting a cookie and tea/coffee will be made very welcome. smile

jeni Sat 05-May-12 14:47:20

Bring them to the party!

Ariadne Sat 05-May-12 14:50:09

jeni Sat 05-May-12 15:16:14

glassortwo Sat 05-May-12 15:34:13

jeni Sat 05-May-12 15:46:17

Anagram Sat 05-May-12 15:49:38

She's probably there now....!

Just returned home from watching gransdson playing in a fooball tournament - damp and freezing cold. Will definitely now enjoy the remainder of the weekend cosseted indoors with books, TV and on here!! No point being outdoors.

nanaej Sat 05-May-12 16:54:20

Damp morning at the local Community Fair on the --mud bath--green in town. DGD2 had fun winning loads of prizes as not many other people about! DH at Cup Final so not hoe until late..I have curtains to make but it is more cosy sitting here with lap top!

Ariadne Sat 05-May-12 17:25:07

Fluffy pink clockwork pigs, on which people bet. There's a tote, a bar (yes!) a superb raffle and a amazing group of people running the actual races. It's all very noisy (until I went to to one I'd never have believed I'd enjoy it) And all proceeds go to a local children's charity.

Hope to be back to the Glastonbury party, though.

We are amazed, we are at our Daughters in Leicester looking after our Grandson, we have had two very pleasant days, couple of minor showers, but warmer and dryer than forecast. Lujaha, sorry you are getting rain in Italy, we seem to have been very lucky, stopped raining the day we arrived and started again a few days after we left.
