Apart from choosing a new name, I've been slathering Germolene on insect bites - how lovely is that? My new name doesn't make one think of Germolene and insect bites! It's the time of year for these and I'm covered in large itchy bumps...grin

Happy Birthday ga hope you have enjoyed your special day?

glassortwo Sun 02-Sept-12 22:09:05

Whats happened to soop I have been unable to get online for 10 days at the house.

annodomini Sun 02-Sept-12 22:12:29

There's a shuttle service to and from the car park. The paths to and around the gardens are pretty good, but the uphill bits would be hard work with a wheelchair. Tatton Park would be easier and I know that when my sister had a broken leg, we pushed her round Dunham Massey in a wheelchair - now there's a really special garden - wonderful rhododendrons and azaleas in late spring, early summer, and, in the summer, an amazing variety of hydrangeas.

Greatnan Mon 03-Sept-12 06:44:25

I hope the pain of the sting has abated, Bags. I know you are always an early riser anyway but I wondered if it had kept you awake.

Ariadne Mon 03-Sept-12 06:45:27

Hi glass! Morning Bags! A misty, misty morning here in Kent - Maine there is some sun lurking?

Greatnan Mon 03-Sept-12 06:48:58

Thanks for the info about Styal Mills. Every time I visit my sister we have plans to have days out, but on my last two visits it has done nothing but rain most days.

kittylester Mon 03-Sept-12 07:12:09

Morning all, gracesmum flowersbrew

Bags Mon 03-Sept-12 07:24:24

Kind of you to ask, gn smile. My finger has swollen up again and is very stiff and hot. It's uncomfortable but not painful. Some small blisters have arisen on the side of my finger too, but I think those may be an allergic reaction to the elastoplast yesterday morning confused. At the moment I'm just thinking "What the dickens?!" Might phone quack later but feel a right charlie going to the quack with a sore finger!!!

Bags Mon 03-Sept-12 07:25:37

Hope your gc-sitting goes well today, gracesmum.

Ella46 Mon 03-Sept-12 10:34:57

Anno Thanks for the info about Styal Mill. Must pay a visit!

Bags flowers for your finger smile

gracesmum Mon 03-Sept-12 11:16:44

Feeling bad abut moaning so about DH yesterday (he deserved it though!) as he really has a stinking cold. Funny how everything seems better on a sunny morning!! sunshine smile
Little boys so sweet first thing - little sleepy baby head and big bro very loving, ahhhhh!!!
flowers to all and especially to bags for ouchy finger.

annodomini Mon 03-Sept-12 11:24:01

Have a good day, gracesmum. It's easier to cope with small children if it's sunny. sunshine

Whilst I was out this morning, Thompson and Morgan tried to deliver the irises I've been waiting for. They left a bright yellow card bearing the number I should phone, and a reference number, so I can have them re-delivered. My dog ate the card!

I've pieced the 20 odd pieces together and worked out the number, then phoned to rearrange delivery. I now have to leave the card for the driver, as evidence that I have signed, permitting them to leave the plants in a safe place. I can imagine his face when he tries to read it and put the card on file grin

Nonu Mon 03-Sept-12 17:15:00

I did say I would go round for you , but now too late as things seem to under control.

whenim64 Mon 03-Sept-12 17:17:43

Not so sure about them being under control nonu. My dog has developed a habit of tasting the post if it arrives when I'm out. I foresee a postbox being put on the wall before long grin

kittylester Mon 03-Sept-12 17:22:42

Bags, hope your finger is better.

Gracesmum hope you are coping (with DH as well as GC!!)

Nonu Mon 03-Sept-12 17:42:17

JO4 Mon 03-Sept-12 18:38:29
