Blooming awful here but I've had Bertie here giggling away for most of the day so in the house!

moomim I baked a coffee cake the other morning and added G&B cocoa to the coffee icing so a sort of mocha flavour. DH said yuck but have to say that the cake was reduced to crumbs within a very short time. I like to experiment now and then.

u3a officers meeting this morning and thence, dear reader, to costco. Full of 'seasonal' stuff and apart from a "posable skeleton" i don't mean bonfire night or halloween. Concluded the object I was least tempted by was a giant fleecy reindeer toy. but it was a close run thing. Pleased that i managed to do all the lifting and pushing (including 6 pallets of diet coke - my DH's only vice) without setting off back twinges. Poetry in motion. Bit out of steam by then though, so trying to do odds and sods to tick them off the list

Tonight I had a very sweet telephone chat with GD2 who is ten today. She has a lot in common with me - loves books, hates maths; but unlike me she is very artistic and highly appreciative of my gift of two plain white tee shirts and a pack of fabric paints. Her other present will go straight from Amazon - it's the new Jaqueline Wilson, due out this week.

Oh, thank you, everyone! Yes, we are here at last, and it is lovely. Lots to do do, but time to do it. DD and family turned up, DS-i-L and DH shifted our make do furniture in, DGD1 hung up all the clothes I'd brought, and the grand dog christened all corners of the garden. DD turned up with bottle of fizz so am mellow and happy.

But a sad note; when I turned up, the seller was just leaving, with many apologies. Her husband had a stroke on Saturday and is in hospital, her purchase has been held up, so she cannot move on. She is with family, but my heart went out to her. I am counting my blessings.

I had lovely realaxing facial and back massage yesterday at lovely place we not been to before OH treated me part of birthday pressie and (I am beautician and massage therapist) good to be on receiving end. so did not notice the weather.

I tried not to be critical, lovely the massage and facial massage, but she did not ask what oils I wanted I always do, also did not tell me what she was using on my face little points!!

still sooo relaxed me!

Having fitted furniture put into the study. Poor fitter had to battle through floods and closed roads and was more than two hours later than expected. A big thank you to him for making the effort to reach us.

I've spent most of the day waiting......! My dd was coming to take me for lunch, and then treating me to a back and neck massage (I've got a foot problem which is affecting my walking and my back).
Her new (since Saturday) car broke down en route!
Result, she arrived 4 hours late, had to cancel our massage, and we ate a belated lunch at 5pm!
C'est la vie!

What a day, Ella! I hope you got your massage eventually. I think we have now had 48 hours of non-stop rain.

Ella hope you get your massage, I am a massage therapist and enjoy giving them as long as my posture is ok!! shame you do not live nearer!

I really enjoyed my own treat yesterday.

TODAY I feel have been a hero as cleaned out understairs cupboard phew what load junk accumulates in quite short times.

Now bag of old boots and shoes out for dustbin and another one better stuff for charity shop.
