Oh I have just sat down first time today, the family are all in the front room having a movie night. The DGC have been allowed to have a bath and then come back down (unheard off coming downstairs after their bath, mummy runs a strict routine), to watch a movie and have popcorn.........soooooooooo as I hate movies I have the luxury of a couple of hours peace smile I am sat with a glass of red mmmmmmm.

What are you all up to?

Hi there glass. I too am sitting with my feet up after a long day. I cooked big roast lunch for us and our bridge friends - we were eating until 3 and then played bridge for a couple of hours. After they left, I cleared away washed up the pans and switched on the dishwasher. Now I'm luxuriating in a browse round Gransnet! I have had enough wine, so just waiting for my DH to propose a nice cup of builders. Enjoy your peace, cheers!

Does it have to be a movie night, can't it be film night?

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 19:20:00

Marelli Sat 20-Oct-12 19:21:52

Just watched Freddy Mercury on Catch-up,(wonderful!) and now I'm watching Ray Davies (my idol in the 60's). Just eaten a lovely curry and doing nothing other than watching telly - oh, and GN of course! smile

DD has managed a weekend visit back to GB so we have been out for lunch and then back to mine so she can admire the new study. She brought a gift for our sapphire anniversary, it is a massive sapphire paperweight, so I did get one after all smile
DD has booked a meal out, on that special day in December, at a fab restaurant near her in Brussels. For the first time in my life I am going to be abroad for the festive season. I am so looking forward to it.

URGENT. Question for Marelli. I have been trying to locate the Freddy Mercury prog on Catchup for the last few days with no success. and I really want to watch it. It's not under Freddy or Mercury. So where?

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 19:42:06

harri ohh so you got your sapphire smile how lovely being away with your DD over Christmas.

Petallus it was on after the BBC 1 News @ 10 earlier this week - sorry I cannot remember what day but possibly Monday. Enjoy it when you get there grin

Daman Sat 20-Oct-12 21:05:33

I just remembered its Saturday night and it makes me a very sad person to have nothing better to do than be on here.
I'm going to pretend I'm gone out now . Bye.... see you later....

Ana Sat 20-Oct-12 21:07:12

grin

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 21:08:41

daman what a shame you will miss the party if you go out on the town. grin

gracesmum Sat 20-Oct-12 21:09:54

Don't quite know how to take that Daman - anything wrong with being on here? A Saturday night in might have been an admission of defeat in our 20's but it really doesn't bother me. DH out at a Quiz Evening (somehow forgot to get me a ticket but I am just as happy to be in.) Strictly , short break then Inspector Montalbano suits me prefectly!

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 21:12:43

daman
Please always remember that LIFE is where YOU are at THAT moment.
And that means what you make of it.
Be it reading a book, baking a cake, looking after others, etc. etc.
Or even playing on Gransnet on a Saturday night.

Unless you are still very young; if you are , then may be you should go and play in Dahood.

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 21:32:32

Always be happy were you are and it will all fall into place, if you need something else you need to go and find it.

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 21:33:04

where not were

Ana Sat 20-Oct-12 21:45:31

I thought Daman was joking - if he wasn't, he's a lot more lively than most 77 year old men! DH (73) is already looking forward to bedtime...(no, not for that reason!)

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 22:07:45

grin grin grin nag

annodomini Sat 20-Oct-12 22:12:36

Daman, if you have to pretend to go out, it's even more sad than chatting on G'net. sad

whenim64 Sat 20-Oct-12 22:25:12

Staying In is the new Going Out!! Who needs pressure? grin

annodomini Sat 20-Oct-12 22:33:04

And could he possibly have better company than 'us lot'? wink
