Hello titch welcome to Gransnet, we dont have a live chat room on GN but if you choose a thread and post someone will reply to you, or start a new thread and everyone will join in.

titch02 Sat 20-Oct-12 20:17:42

thanks for the advice. Do I just go into forum's to get on board

glassortwo Sat 20-Oct-12 20:22:19

I always use active on the strip at the top, its is outlined in blue and is green, just click on active and you will get a list of 50 active threads, you can see who has posted last and just choose a thread that catches your eye and go for it. grin

Or you can go to Forums, find the list of topics, click on one and choose a thread. The danger with that is that you might find a thread that's so out of date that we've all forgotten it! Best do what glass suggests and find the active threads. Enjoy G'net. We are fun, crazy but best of all supportive. sunshine

Anne58 Wed 24-Oct-12 20:31:08

Hi titch and welcome. I can really vouch for the support on here! Beware though, some threads that start with a particular subject can often wander!

I won't even begin to try to explain Lil's bar!

Marelli Wed 24-Oct-12 20:48:00

My daughter has had both knees replaced, along with both hips, one wrist and one elbow. She found the pain had nearly gone, but still has difficulty getting around.

Hi titch, welcome flowers. Sorry, my bits are all my own but I hope you feel better soon.

Greatnan Thu 25-Oct-12 08:52:39

Titch - click on Forums and you will get a list. Click on 'Health' then on 'Start New Discussion' and post your question about knees.
Replacement wrist and elbow - that sounds interesting!

Hello tich02 I had both knees replaced nearly five years ago and had both done at the same time. I reasoned that I wouldn't have double the amount of pain, but having them done separately would mean twice the amount of time taken to recovery.

Anyway, I may have been lucky but I didn't really have a lot of discomfort expect during the first couple of weeks. I went back to work after 10 weeks and to be honest I could have returned earlier, but the consultant was concerned that I would be commuting on the train and didn't want me to take any risks. I was driving my car after 6 weeks.

Just hang in there. It will get better. ARe you having any physio? Five years later and I'm like new. grin

glammanana Thu 25-Oct-12 12:51:28
