Today I finished my Toby the Tram cake for little boy's first birthday party tomorrow. (See profile) Whew!! I used to sweat over these when the DDs were little but never thought I would somehow let myself in for doing it again 30 years on!!

Thank you, peeps. Oddly enough, I often think about gransnet when I'm doing archery. Don't ask me why!

jO5 Sat 10-Nov-12 19:04:52

crimson I suffered from blepharitis for several years - what a pain. Nothing help till someone recommended Simple eye make-up remover and gradually it got better and now I don't get it at all.
I also stopped using Clinique stuff which I had used for years. I now use a variety of much cheaper things, Nivea mainly, and the wrinkles don't seem to have got any worse.
Despite Clinique's claim to be hypoallergenic I suspect I was allergic to something in the products I was using.
Hope the weddings went well sunshine
We are just home from a week on the canals and there is a mountain of washing to sort and other stuff to unpack, but nice to be home.

I used Clinique for years too JeanA Then a couple of years ago I went to have a facial massage etc ( birthday gift from a friend) and the woman there told me Clinique was better on young skin and not really suitable when you get older. She said to use Nivea cream instead and to use a cleanser costing about a fiver made by L'Oreal - they do several skin type ones.
I do still use a good quality foundation though - had a Lancôme one which I must have left in a hotel bathroom when my last one was still almost full!!grin

JessM Sat 10-Nov-12 20:48:15

For those of us with sensitive skin can I put in a word for dermalogica. I suffered with terrible allergies a few years ago, so bad that at times I couldn't go to work. My whole face would puff up and my eyes would almost close. Through a long process of trial and error I found that dermalogica was the only brand I could rely on to never cause a reaction. Another bonus is that it is totally non animal tested, unlike most well known brands.
