Yes, and I find Magic tape easier to manage than clear sellotape (no good on metallic wrapping paper though, it looks too obvious).

What did they use when we were kids? Had sellotape been invented then? Was it just silvery string? Perhaps I'll go back to that!

…and no it's not "quite easy to go out and buy Christmas presents". It's difficult and exhausting.

Most of this is bits and pieces for the grandkids from Amazon (free p and p). I have only done one real life shopping trip tbh.

Anyway, it's Mr P's birthday on the 17th of this month, so I need to deal with that first.

Yes - I HATE wrapping presents too.

The job has become so much easier since I bought a Scotch pop up tape dispenser, which is worn on the wrist and gives ready cut lengths of sticky tape. Much better than the bits I used to cut and hang around the table edge. They are widely available, as are the refills.

Yes, those sticky tape dispensers that you put on your wrist are truly marvellous. My present wrapping is much neater.

We are off on hols for two weeks -come back to organise a huge family weekend party - then we need to recover - then it will be December. Think I have left it too late to do shopping. They will have to make do with money!!

Wrapping is the best part! My parcels are works of art (she says modestly). Trouble is DH & DS disappear for 10 mins on the eve of the day after asking me if I've got any paper, tape & scissors. The result is NOT pretty. Perhaps I should wrap for them then I'd get a gorgeous parcel too I actually wouldn't care what's in the parcel

I would love to be creative and talented at wrapping presents. I always know how I want them to look, but can't pull it off. Thank goodness for pretty gift bags!

My wrapping skills display a wrapping age of about 6. DH can do nice ones but it takes him an hour per item.
Those ready made bags, or pay Amazon to wrap, that is my motto for the few presents I have to deal with.

I often use tin foil and string for presents; I love to see a present wrapped in string. And brown paper. Not sure why .

Jess - ditto. DH attacks present-wrapping like a military exercise and has to have his stall set out just so, and it takes him ages! The trouble is he uses so much sellotape that it's actually frustrating for the recipients...

Oh, I'm inclined to do that. I like pressies to be a bit hard to open.

Christmas is just stress as far as I am concerned. My Children can never decide what they want or like. They all tend to just buy what they want anyway. 6 week old GS won't even know its Christmas.

I hate the idea of buying presents for the sake of it.

Someone out there please give me some inspiration, does anyone know about theatre or short break vouchers or such like. Nothing really over £100 per couple we do try to have ceiling per person to prevent inflation.
