Hi folks!

Bags Thu 28-Feb-13 17:01:31

Rotten luck, anno, but sunshinr does make a difference smile

soop, you are one tough and impressive lady! I'm crossing all fingers and toes and sending flowers.

soop Thu 28-Feb-13 17:04:16

I don't think I'm ging to read this thread any more, I was feeling very pleased that I had shaken off whatever black dog had gobbled up my "get up and go" this morning and it was with an effort I suggested Gracesdad and I go out. We went off to neighbouring townlet for lunch and a mosey round the weekly market where I got some very cheap veggies, a couple of scarves at a fraction of the price I paid recently in a little shop in London, then tea/cofee at the Deli run by ny friend Dee and home to prune/tidy up the hydrangeas by the front door.
Then I read what everybody else had done yesterday and am humbled, nay shamed at your activity.
So now I am going to have another cup of tea, some suggestive biscuits and watch Antiques Roadshow - so there!
PS good to get GD out, he seems just about back to normal after last week's little strokes smile

gracesmum Thu 28-Feb-13 17:15:13

Oh also took Grace for a decent walkie - she's out for the count now!

Ella46 Thu 28-Feb-13 17:18:42

soop I don't know how you manage such energetic gardening........I would love to sit and watch you through a window grin

Ana Thu 28-Feb-13 17:39:11

gracesmum, take heart! You've done a lot more than I have today - didn't even go to work as I've been stricken by horrible virus which I thought I'd managed to avoid...done nothing but slob all day!

numberplease Thu 28-Feb-13 17:43:05

Soop, you`re amazing! I hope that you and Mr. Soop can sort out the hoiuse problems to your satisfaction, the powers that be certainly seem out to thwart you.
Gracesmum, how do you persuade Grace to go for long walkies? Our Heidi would get to the end of the river bank, about 400 yards, then decide it was time to go home again!
Done nothing much today, apart from getting tea in the oven straight after dinner, giving me all afternoon to be lazy.

Galen Thu 28-Feb-13 17:51:04

All I did was sit in a tribunal. Came home, sorted and chucked some papers and poured myself a drink.

Ariadne Thu 28-Feb-13 18:12:12

gracesmum Be assured, I have done s*d all not much today, at least as far as house work is enough. As the French might say, an egg is an egg. smile

Ariadne Thu 28-Feb-13 18:13:04

"is enough" ?? Need to lie down.

Galen Thu 28-Feb-13 18:29:03

gracesmum Thu 28-Feb-13 18:44:33

I had a really lazy day, got up and got dressed, DH drove me to a neighbouring city where I met six other Grans for lunch. DH collected me and dove me home and is now preparing dinner, he is very special smile

Ariadne Thu 28-Feb-13 21:36:17

Galen say it in French..

Tegan Thu 28-Feb-13 22:37:49

Slowly moving everything back into the living room and hall after the carpet clean. Seem to spend all of my life moving stuff from one room to another. Apart from a lie down on the sofa for an hour part way through the afternoon I've been on the go since 7.30 this morning. Thankfully in a weeks time I've got two weeks off work [hurrah!]. I'm cream crackered yet again.

Tegan Thu 28-Feb-13 22:45:56

....on the plus side realised that N Power had reimbursed me with nearly £400 that I'd overpaid [I think my new central heating system is far more efficient than the old one] so, by making a huge saving by having a water meter and halving the cost of my broadband/telephone bill I'm feeling well chuffed with my efforts to cut down on my outgoings. And also felt that the new computer system at work was making a bit more sense smile. Now to crash out on the sofa again....

I must STOP BUYING DRESSES! Saw this gorgeous phase eight silver sequin evening dress and just HAD TO have it!. Blown the refund on my washing machine on it!
hmm hope it fits!

GLASS! HELP!

Tegan Thu 28-Feb-13 23:07:25

I love Phase Eight.

hummingbird Thu 28-Feb-13 23:16:45

I love Phase Eight too! Our lovely son and daughter treated us to a couple of days in the glorious Lake District to celebrate our birthdays. We started the day with breakfast, a wonderful full body massage, then a four mile walk in startling and unexpected sunshine, followed by a leisurely swim, seven course taster-menu-dinner, and now to bed, to reflect upon how truly blessed we are!

harrigran Thu 28-Feb-13 23:42:24

Love Phase Eight Galen dress sounds lovely envy

Here I am, safely delivered by Emirates to not so sunny Sydney. Landed in a storm this morning; the wind is blowing and the rain is falling but forecast is better for the weekend. Lovely to be greeted by all 4 gc's. The boys were allowed to wait until I arrived before leaving for school which delighted them - not me arriving but having a couple of hours off school! Haven't given in to sleep yet so must keep going for another 6 hours at least.
gracesmum you are a woman after my own heart grin
soop don't overdo the muscle-building grin
galen don't feel guilty wink

Good wishes to all you energetic (and slightly less so) GNetters. I've just watched the sun rise over the sea in Rafina, just outside Athens,
My oldest friend was 60 yesterday and last night we celebrated with her family. I met her newest GS who is 6 weeks old smile
Today we are headed for the Acropolis in the sunshine

Actually, thinking of my friends on here, she isn't my 'oldest' friend grin
