This weather is getting me down. Is it May or March?
Book Title by Their Authors (Parlour Game)
Hi folks!
butty
Thank you all for being kind. Isn't gn great?
Ga hope you are feeling better today.
Having had my 3
last night I woke up at 3 am with a headache
but I also decided to pull rank on my brothers and start to look at other homes.
Off to look after the two eldest grandchildren today so won't get chance to think about Mum for the whole day!
Just making a decision can make you feel a whole lot better kitty
Butty Huge warm hugs from an amazing Kintyre. The sky is cloudless. The sea, like glass. The ferry, which is ghost-like, appears to be hovering over it as it glides to Islay. I'm off to tidy part of the wilder regions of the garden. Rory may decide to join me.
soop I can just SEE it! Must be the most wonderful spot.
Having some carpets cleaned. It's wonderful just sitting back and seeing someone else clean my house [boy does it need doing]. I could get used to this!
I'm hoping that you lot have been enjoying your day.
Have been in the garden since 11:00...had two mugs of coffee and a coconut macaroon at lunchtime [sitting on a moss-covered hillock.] Mr soop has just helped me to shift eleven heaped barrow-loads of "stuff" and cannot believe that I've made such a huge improvement. Almighty big BRAG!
Rory has not budged from a sunny spot well away from the spade, hoe, shears, hose, and big bristle brush. A hard slog of a day, with pleasing results. Need to take a hot shower and some pain killers. Can't let Mr soop know that I'm hurting from head to toe. He tends to get
He's been putting the finishing touches to the drawings for the hoped for wee hoos. Eager to submit for planning approval.
soop hope you can still move tomorrow
It was such a lovely day that I had to hobble to the shops and pootle about for an hour on my trusty crutch.
After I staggered home
, I was too wacked to do my chores and I've been lolling about on the sofa ever since
not doing that again tomorrow
I knew the CCTV would come in useful, a neighbour had two bikes stolen during the night. We ran back our CCTV and timed the theft down to the second, young PC came and watched too. The scumbag had a distictive walk so if he has a police record he will almost certainly be caught.
soop! Do look after yourself. That sounds like a very hard day's work and Rory has the right attitude!
FANFARE emoticon! I did housework! All is sparkling (well, the bits anyone can see) and do I feel fulfilled? Nope. Just knackered. Smells nice, though, and should last a while...
soop hope you have soaked some aches away & well done Ariadne I am feeling rather lazy having read your posts. I went to London for a masterclass with a chef (Nathan Outlaw)! Took an old school friend..we reminisced about our times in school Home Ec classes!
If this sunny weather goes on I will have no option but to clean the windows.
Anno I could no longer stand the sight of the small windows in the garage yesterday and despite the fact that I am not allowed to store anything except my car in there (because it's 'his' territory) I went in and cleaned them. The procedure involved the removal of large quantities of spiders' webs and spider corpses [deep shame emoticon].
I can really recommend cleaning windows way of feeling smug and self-satisfied for several days afterwards.
I am definitely a lady who lunches. Met my old school friend in Newcastle today and tomorrow it's the Newcastle meet-up
Not a word I use often, but right now I am gobsmacked!
My 21 year old son popped out a few minutes ago and has just returned via the kitchen, bringing me a cup of tea - along with chocolates and flowers!! He really is a lovely young man.
To all other poorly people -
Harrigran - great detective work!
I cleaned windows today - which happily coincided with a viewing
Mr. B cooked supper this evening - which was lovely.
Mr. B didn't use the overhead fan.
Result - windows running in condensation.
You win some, you lose some........
ga
teaching, translating, lunch with a young friend from UK, cleaning, more teaching, more translating - hoovering and kitchen floor.
Skiing tomorrow.
Glad you are feeling a bit better ga.Had a tooth out today.Appointment at 2pm, out of the surgery at 2.15! Had to sit in the car for a while to recover- felt quite wobbly.Thought the dentist was just making a fuss about having someone to take you home, so didn't bother
Oh dear Grannylin - that was a bit fast. My dentist makes you stay for half an hour after an extraction even if you have someone with you. Hope it heals as quickly as it came out.
Went out into the garden with the intention of spending an hour tidying, so started on the patch where the compost bins are. Filled a compost bin with soggy dead leaves, cut off several tree branches which were encroaching and catching in my hair, raked more leaves off the lawn. Felt virtuous and went indoors, found I had only been half an hour. Did NOT go out again.
Tried to make sense of Facebook. Partially successful. Now have several FB friends who are also GNers (one an ex-GNer)
Sat in sunshine in conservatory finishing "The 100 year-old man who climbed out of the window and vanished" Fell asleep.
Gosh that was quick! Take it was not wisdom one even so hope you feeling better now!
Brave lady Grannylin hope it heals quickly.
Grannylin Well done!
anno ella nanaeg Awoke in the wee small hours and decided that I'd give the garden another few hours hard work, once I'd had breakfast. Not right away.
I'm like that...will swear that I cannot under any circumstances, put in more than an hour of the heavy stuff. So,off I went at 10:30 and I've worked ever since. We have a stretch of back garden that borders on the woodland. It is part wild and looks lovely left that way. Over the winter the ground cover has become tangled and totally out of control. Our gardener pals were to tackle it, when they can spare the time. I've managed the task over two days and the results are pleasing.
Rory lay in a canvas chair and did a little overseeing, inbetween cat-napping.
Mr soop was hoping to submit the drawings of the wee hoos to the planners tomorrow. However, we received a call from the builder who had yet more "uncomfortable news" for us. It's all a bit complicated and I've no wish to bore you with the detail. Thing is, we now have an extra £2,500 tacked on to the cost of the build as we'll need a new air heat source. Three months have passed since we first asked for an estimate and we are no nearer reaching a conclusion. From week to week costs are increasing.
Mr soop is sitting at the table and staring at his beautiful drawings. If we wish to continue he needs to do yet more calculations and ammend the plans. He's such a good man. He deserves a break. Perhaps with patience, we'll overcome the hurdles and succeed.
Was just winding down after CAB today when a colleague who had left early rang from the car park to tell me I had a puncture. Oh joy!! I have to say that the Mpleasant young AA man came very quickly and put the emergency spare wheel on for me. I've dropped the offending wheel off at the garage for the tyre to be either fixed or replaced - it has a nail in it. Just my luck. But it has been another glorious day which makes me feel good despite the tyre. My joints feel so much better when the air pressure is high too. Long may it last. Will March come in like a lion or a lamb?
