Lovely bright day today but not as warm as it looked through the window. GD wanted to walk along the beach ... fine. When it came to leave the house she picked up baby doll, change bag, feeding bottle and spare clothes and asked for the buggy. Guess who ended up pushing the buggy along the beach while she played ?

Bags congratulations and welcome to Howard Hugh. Bet mini bags is thrilled to be an aunty again. Lovely that you were both at hand to share in those first precious hours/days.

Well, bed for me!
I'm only working tomorrow pm, which means I can have the lie in I missed with DD and DGD visiting at the weekend!
Still wouldn't have missed it for everything.

Today I survived. No skin left on my teeth, so can't deal with anything else for a day or two! Aargh!

Here I am, downstairs with my two small DGSs. Heard them outside my bedroom door "Where's Nannie? You go in and get her!" "No, you go." etc. so, of course.... All my GC know I'm an early riser but these two beat me to it! It's nice to give their parents a bit of a lie in; such a rare thing when you have small children. And I don't see CBeebies much these days.

Very exciting news Bags - congratulations to you all! May this new little babe bring much happiness.

We had a lovely time! I drove through Argyll admiring the hoar frost and ice on the sea loch beaches and the ice on the sea and freshwater lochs, snow (some) on the mountains and more hoar frost on the trees in the shadowed valleys. Beautiful, beautiful Scotland, all within an hour or so of where I live . And then soop and I chatted non-stop for two and a half hours+. We got someone in the pub (gran since last November we discovered; join gransnet, we said!) to take some photos, which I will upload anon when Minibags gets off Katie (the desk computer). The sea ice had still not melted even by mid-afternoon, with the tide in and out, so I guess the sea water is COLD in the shallow parts. But it was the most beautiful to look at and lovely to remember day. Cheers! for gransnet friendships .

soop, hope you hear from Mr Soop very soon after you get home

Have had a really lovely day at Howletts zoo with three of the four GC and DD1. The weather was beautiful, slightly chilly, but beautiful warm sun. There were two baby tigers who were so sweet but I still love the gorillas best. Am very pleased with myself as, only being out of plaster for a short while, following repair of Achilles tendon, I walked round with no problem at all. Feel I am back to normal (whatever normal may be ;)) Now back home having a nice cuppa.

Bags, what a lovely mind picture you paint, making me "homesick" for Argyll and Kintyre! Glad you both had a lovely get together, looking forward to seeing the photos.

Hello everyone. As Bag's says, today was perfect in every way. It's hard to believe that we blethered for nigh on three hours...time passes all too quickly when with friends. Her photos of new-born Howard Hugh, are delightful.
Mr soop has phoned from his hospital bed. He sounded a trifle woozy but is now thinking in terms of escaping and returning home. It certainly feels very strange to be here without him. Bless!
Rory had been guarding the house and jogged strolled to welcome me. He then pestered me for food and I was encouraged to open both front and back doors [so that he could saunter between the two and admire the view].
Kintyre is absolutely stunning today. Jura and Islay appear to be painted in watercolours and are rising mistily from a perfectly placid sea. The lochs were frozen at the edges this morning. The rock pools on the beach, are still glazed with a thin layer of ice. Not a cloud in the sky.
