I have always liked this thread, so here I am resurrecting it!

Today I have mainly been eating, drinking and sleeping, then eating....

Such decadence! Lunchtime drinks at the Yacht club, watching the gaffer (DGD explained what it meant) racing and the sun glinting on the water, then home for a bite, then a snooze...what a life. How lovely today was.

Butty Wed 08-May-13 12:34:29

Taking photos. There's been sunshine, storm clouds, rain, another roof leak, sunshine.

janeainsworth Wed 08-May-13 13:30:02

Butty The light was so beautiful this morning I couldn't resist going into the front garden in my dressing gown to take some photos - crouching down to take close-ups of the daffodils and fritillaries.
Unfortunately I was spotted by DH who got his camera out and threatened to post his pictures of me on Facebook shock It looks as though a polar bear has invaded the gardenshock

Butty Wed 08-May-13 13:45:26

grin.

Been to the shops this morning, got spayed with Chanel in Boots - OH liked the smell and bought me some for our anniversary this weekend (12 years!) - lucky me grin

Came home, raining so no gardening today. Joined blackbird in chasing a magpie out of the garden (must protect those baby birds!)

How does that spaying with Chanel procedure work? Can someone remind me? is it something to do with being middle class? Can I have it done in Champneys or have Boots cornered the market ?

kittylester Wed 08-May-13 14:58:43

I have, mainly, been looking after my eldest granddaughter [aged nearly 5] who informed be that, 'When you are a toddler you go to Stompers [musical movement]. When you are too big for Stompers you go to Ballet. When you are too big for Ballet you go to Beavers, Rainbows or ................
Farties grin

I think she meant Karate!

Do love this thread Ariadne

I have always loved it! And today I have pottered, but went out for an early wine in a pub overlooking the beach, and sat laughing at the dogs who were either charging into the water or standing barking at it, or just...running. Lovely.

DGD1 dropped in after a long A2 revision session; the young do get tired too! Mind you, so do I...smile

moomin Wed 08-May-13 19:41:07

Ooh 'eck! Just noted what I did there (earlier, pre wine so no excuse!) fingers typing faster than brain! grin

Today I cycled across the border between Germany and Austria in glorious sunshine. Getting ready for a 28 mile ride tomorrow!

Took my four year old grandsons to a 'Superheroes' birthday party in a soft play centre. Forty four and five year olds, high on adrenaline and cupcakes, dressed as whatever Tesco has on its rails. Mine were Batman and Robin, wearing 'cakes'.....'no, nana, not cape!' As birthday boy's dad shouted that the food was ready, a swarm of nutters came charging out of the bouncy castles and play houses and descended on their party boxes, devoured the cakes and crisps and disappeared back to their Batcaves.

Mummy arrived from work to take over. 'You can go home now' she soothed. I'm still reeling! grin

Rushing about like a blue arsed fly.
I had a group of former NWR women coming tonight.
I have frantically tidied and vacuumed the living room. Been packing to go down South tomorrow to staying overnight at my sister in laws to attend a family funeral.

On my way to knitting group I went well out of my way to buy some biscuits and stuff for the overnight stay. At knitting group I had a good lunch, a natter, a knit and a laugh.

Then went off to see the endocrinologist for follow up on my parathyroid surgery. Calcium decently low. Parathyroid hormone back too high.

Now ? vitamin D defiency again. Yet another flipping blood test. before I go back to endocrinologist to get results and then he will decide what to do! Possibly back on the industrial Vitamin D doses. I don't feel unwell which is good. I have generally been very lucky to be healthy but now I am (rather unjustifiably) begining to feel I am becoming decrepit.

I want it all sorted! Yesterday.

The meeting of the (former NWR) group of friends was good fun though. Now I have 11 mugs to wash.
No GN for 48hrs.

Today I have already been awake for five hours, on and off! It only happens every so often, but is soooo annoying. Shall soon be flagging, methinks.

Ella46 Thu 09-May-13 09:08:38

Ariadne I had a few nights like that last week, it's so annoying isn't it?
Then as soon as it's time to get up, I get really sleepy!

annodomini Thu 09-May-13 09:16:24

Was reading in bed for two hours - reluctant to get up but then reflected that I have to finish start packing for my trip to France, leaving late afternoon. If there's a 'last minute' I will always find it.

Butty Thu 09-May-13 09:28:17

Have a good holiday, Anno.

Up at 4.30 starving hungry due to having a 'fasting' day yesterday. Watched TV for an hour with cuppa, realised my adult (29) son was not in. He is usually very responsible about letting us know if he is staying out. Heard the door go at 4.45. He was slightly tipsy holding a glass of water. He had been for a 'quiet' drink after work with two friends after a 7 hour shift, walked 4 mile from next town to our town and fell asleep on a bench in local gardens. I advised him that only tramps sleep on benches and that he could have been mugged while in a drunken stupor (my vision of course) He replied that it WAS in the better end of town where he fell asleep (always and answer)

He was up bright and cheerful at 8pm to go to work!!! I had hoped for a nice hangover, no such luck.

Looking forward to a morning of buying plants and pub lunch with my DF Romi

I have just had a bit of a panic. Yesterday I had an outpatient appointment and as instructed in the letter I took a small pee sample with me. It was never asked for.
This morning I emptied out the bag I had it in, and can I find the plastic bag with the small jar of pee in it? Can I heck as like!

I just hope, that if it came out of my bag with something else, it was not in the consultants room. At least there was no name or owt on it. blush blush blush

annodomini Thu 09-May-13 10:05:59

Thanks Butty. I am sure Greatnan will ensure that I have a very good time. smile

Ariadne Thu 09-May-13 16:16:38

I am hibernating! Such a change in the weather today - lashing down with rain and really strong winds; I fought my way along the quay to Rotary, wrapped up in my flowery raincoat with the hood up, and was nearly blown off my feet!

Theseus is still in shorts, because it is, apparently, now summer...
