I'm not going personally but my 2 sisters and their husbands are seeing him this month in Birmingham. They have been life long fans. I can remember when they were teenagers I got them tickets to see him at a local venue when he was with the Faces. The tickets were £1 each! A bit different to now. He's wearing well.

He wears it very well! I'm going with my sister and 2 friends. It will be nice to see them too smile

I hope you enjoy it. I've seen him once, he puts on a great show.

Never been a fan but I heard some of his latest album on the radio and found myself thinking he seems to have improved with age! Hope you enjoy the show.

I saw him above a garage in Derby with Long John Baldry and Elton John but can't I remember the name of the group. I used to love him, went right off him, quite fancy him again now blush

Ooh I'm envy Enjoy!

I used to like Long John Baldry. Used to go and see him in Manchester at the Twisted Wheel.

He has definitely improved with age and is very good company when I'm working out in the gym! We are going to see hm in Brum and I'm very much looking forward to it. It is great to listen to the songs he wrote himself and wonder what was going on in his life at the time.

Never liked him at all years ago, but since he started to record some of the old standards, I`ve come to quite like him.

I saw him once years ago and he seemed to be fond of turning around and wiggling his bum at the audience. Hopefully he doesn't do that now he is a pensioner!

Movedalot Sat 01-Jun-13 17:09:53

Nope didn't see his bum last time, will let you know if he does it in Brum!

I saw him a couple of years ago in Glasgow. Tickets booked for October in a brand new venue in Glasgow, looking forward to it, the last one was great fun smile

My next gig is Bruce Springsteen at Hampden Park in a couple of weeks grin

I saw him in Glasgow too and it was gret. He's such a fab performer. Saw Supertramp last weekend (Roger Hodgson) - brilliant!!

Babs1952 Sun 02-Jun-13 21:08:41

Thanks for all your comments I'll let you know how it goes smile

I'd love to see Bruce Springsteen. "Take That" was my first ever concert - I've lived a sheltered life - maybe wink

Have to sit through Cliff a week before we get Rod. DH is a fan but I think he is past it (CR not DH!). However it will be at Warwick Castle so maybe more atmospheric.

kittylester Mon 03-Jun-13 11:48:16

Saw Meatloaf at Warwick Castle - it was a-maz-ing!

Babs1952 Mon 03-Jun-13 19:15:55

Meatloaf! Great grin Not sure about Cliff though.

I saw Rod last year at Caesar's Palace (get me!). I'd never been a huge fan but have been since. He was brilliant, had really aged well, and was so down to earth. The lucky people down in the stalls were invited to climb up on stage and have their photos taken with him while he was singing. And I know he's had a chequered past, but when he talked about "his boys" and "his girls", his genuine love for them just shone through.

On the other hand, I heard a radio interview with Cliff the other day, and his genuine love and admiration for himself shone through just as brightly....

Magiemaybe
Love it! grin

I Love Rod Stewart, and his new album is great. I much prefer his own songs to the Classics. Would love to see him in concert.

I saw Rod at the O2 on 4th June - think this is about the 4th or 5th time and he never lets you down - excellent show every time - although this time he wasn't well and had to cancel the show 2 nights later - would love to see him in Vegas.
Going to see The Who this Sunday I hope that they are as good.

nanaej Fri 14-Jun-13 12:36:59

off to see Springsteen 'The Boss' tomorrow at Wembly..

I like Rod Stewart as a singerand would enjoy a concert but from what I have read he doesn't seem like a person I would like to know. Did see him with Small Faces years ago and LJ Baldry..maybe same tour!!

Feel nostalgic when I see the IoW festival is on as went there a couple of times a zillion years ago with my boyfriend now DH of 42+yrs. we saw The Who there!
