What misconceptions do you harbour..........

I was panic stricken, particularly as it was dark chocolate.
Certainly have never known a dog vomit so much before or since.

That DS will pass on as requested messages I give him for DDiL, who may not be home when I ring.

We once had a lurcher that stole half a pound of butter and then threw it all up on our bed. I was never able to get the grease stain out of the blanket!

Going back to misconceptions - the biggest one I've harboured is that my combination of scintillating intellect and sheer animal magnetism is irressistable

It might not surprise anyone (or it might) that until now I believed that happy couples slept together every night in one bed. Anything else was a bad sign. I think my ideas probably came from the Ladybird book of Happy Families. Having just read yet another article about other people's sleeping arrangements I realise my idea was another misconception. Not sure if I'm happy or sad...

That DS2 will remember from one minute to the next what I have told him - for example, when I will be out of the country or when I am coming to visit them.

anno same problem with DH. Yesterday, please get the paper when you go to the shoe menders. Two things to remember at one time but he didn't manage it.

mollie that's a very poignant post. I empathise completely. I continue to harbour the (apparent) misconception that I was present throughout my children's childhood. Others appear to hold a different view

Thank you movedalot. There are times when it upsets me but mostly I just find it very confusing. Ah well - as they say in Yorkshire, there's nowt so queer as folk.

nightowl my mother had an egg timer with the following on it: "All the world's a little queer, save me and thee and even thee's a little queer". Obviously this was long before 'queer' changed its meaning!

The misconception I have is that on the eve of Christmas all the animals in the barn could talk to each other in English. I have carried that for 65 years.!!!!!

Oh crumbs I still believe it. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I laboured under the misconception that that particular 'c' word was banned until after Loughborough Street Fair Brenda. It is enough to bring on the screaming abdabs!

WHen is the Loughborough Street Fair? I only ask because I am well known for whistling carols all though the year and wouldnt want to find myself persona non grata as a result...

My misconception has always been that I'll finish that list of 'To Do' things I set myself each day. My 'Really Must' list is getting out of control.
