Is it getting to anyone else? Is it just me? I am on such a downer today! I am doing everything at a crawl. Well, not actually doing much at all! hmm I haven't even started the dinner.

And I'm cold. sad You can't light the fire in June can you? sad

I think I've got SAD. In June. sad

#pissedoffandneedsomesunshine Or something. (rocketupyouknowwhere?)

We are going to have microwave dinners and oven chips.

petallus Mon 10-Jun-13 19:25:49

I've just had fried potatoes, fried bread, fried egg and baked beans with brown sauce. Comfort food. Sod salad in this weather!

j08 Mon 10-Jun-13 19:29:39

That sounds delicious!!!!

I know it won't last, but we have had a lovely summer afternoon here in Cheshire and now it's a golden evening. Sending you sunshine J0 and Petallus

JO8 the sun came out for a couple of hours at teatime here, but by then you sort of think " why bother", I to had fried potatoes and ham for tea, but was annoyed I had forgotten the onion when I went shopping.

Have put the microwave meals back in freezer. Going to do a fry-up

matson Mon 10-Jun-13 19:46:19

have you got a spare onion please? x

Sook Mon 10-Jun-13 20:10:16

It is a beautiful evening in my corner of Cheshire too. I bought some bedding plants from Aldi this morning and I've just put them in the borders.

My summer wardrobe shopping has consisted of a cardigan and a jumper, both already well worn. Looking forward to hot chocolate! brew

Sorry folks. It's winter here in Cape Town, and its really warm during the day. Does get chilly at night though. Only here for a short visit so hopefully it will be warmer at home on our return.smile

Turned out well here in Durham but still chilly. Went to the new M'nS and to my horror caught sight of myself in a sneaky cruel mirror which had no business being full length in the children's section.came home very sad and inflicted salad on my poor DH. We need some heat .and sun.and good news. And could someone start a list of feel good reads please.

tanith Mon 10-Jun-13 21:28:30

We were thinking about putting the heating on, its been dismal all day here in London. I was talking to my sister in West Wales and she'd come in from the garden because it was getting too hot..angry

OH is really down and fed up. He does get SAD generally in February, and it really does look like he's suffering from June SAD!

The sun came out briefly this evening and the wind has gone around to the south, so hopefully things may be improving.

Charleygirl Mon 10-Jun-13 22:46:55

I think that I may be suffering from hypothermia in London and it is nearly mid June.
It was similar last year I recall.

Hunt Mon 10-Jun-13 23:22:39

Heating on,electric blanket on, only worn my new sandals once, jumpers and cardigans, soup for lunch, Here comes Summer.... I don't think so!

gracesmum Mon 10-Jun-13 23:35:23

DH came down heavily on my attempt to sneak the heating on - told to put on a thicker jersey!!
Throw another dog on the bed, anyone?grin

NfkDumpling Tue 11-Jun-13 08:23:25

Sunny and warm in Norfolk this morning! OH is off to do his NT volunteer gardening bit - in shorts! Daren't look at the forecast. (I may consider not having a hot water bottle tonight)

Hunt Tue 11-Jun-13 09:00:48

That is why I quite like the winter fuel allowance. I can say ''That's MY bit'' As I switch on the central heating! No contest.

ninathenana Tue 11-Jun-13 09:56:09

Not cold enough for heating, but very grey and thick cardi weather outside here in north Kent.

petallus Tue 11-Jun-13 10:02:23

j08 I hope you enjoyed your fry up.

j08 Tue 11-Jun-13 10:13:04

DH was watching his kind of telly (Quest) in another room last night so I had the pretending-to-be-a-woodburner electric fire on on full blast while I watched mine (soaps). Was deliciously cosy. grin

Just as bleak looking again today. hmm

Will not let it get to me today!

Yes Petallus. The fry up went down very well. DH did laugh at me because I ate mine in front of the oven with the door open, enjoying the bit of warmth from cooking the oven chips. Can't believe how cold I was! Will move about more today. grin

PRINTMISS Tue 11-Jun-13 17:03:48

It has been horrible, cold and miserable here all day, just drizzle, drizzle, drizzle. I too threw out the healthy option for lunch, and had fried spam, (YES I DID!) with egg and chips and baked beans, felt much better after that. Once again the evening turning mellow, too late to do anything!

mollie Wed 12-Jun-13 08:48:28

I'm totally pi**ed off. OH decided to take this week off work when we had a few days of chilly but sunny weather last week. Big ideas of lovely, relaxing days out. Humph! It's been chilly, windy and very grey all week and totally uninspiring! So much for global warming!!

NfkDumpling Wed 12-Jun-13 09:38:32

That's the trouble - global warming means the jet stream moving and far more extremes in weather. At least we've not had the bad flooding they've had on the continent.

(Back to 'normal' today. Grey and mizzley. At least we nearly had a day of summer yesterday.)
