My DD has just said I am grumpy. I am!!!!

Whats wrong with me, yes I feel I am a grump at the moment.

The smallest thing seems to send me off on a spiral and I feel that’s all I am doing is grumping about everything. A caller supposedly from my mobile provider got sent off with a flea in his ear yesterday asking questions about a phone I don’t use and how was I coping with my contract, surely information he should be privy to if he was who he said he was. I dont seem to have patience for anyone or anything.

Its not the school holidays as I have had a busy but satisfying week with DGS 7 and DGD 5.

Looking back I had times when I felt like this when I was pre menstrual.

I cant be bothered with myself, Gransnet or anything else at the moment.

I feel I am on a short fuse. sad

"Embrace your Inner Grump". Wonderful! Would it work on a tee shirt? On a mug?

Ana Sun 28-Jul-13 19:39:07

You're so right, vegasmags! smile

glassortwo Sun 28-Jul-13 20:40:31

Thanks everyone. smile
I took the puppy out for a good long walk into the woods and gave myself a good talking too, being outside does lift my spirits, and I did 'embrace my grump', so hope tomorrow the grumps have gone.
tegan I had to go back onto my full HRT after weaning myself off fully, I got so low over 6 months or so that I had to take myself back off to the Drs, I saw my Lady Dr who was incensed that the Male Dr had insisted that I had to come off, she filled the prescription again and said that she is happy for me to continue for a few more years.
jane moominthe only free days I have over the holidays are 10th,14th and 15th Aug.

I should be looking on the good things I have in my life and not letting my grumpiness get me and others down.
{{{hugs}}} to you all.

"But when the melancholy fit shall fall
Sudden from heaven like a weeping cloud,
That fosters the droop-headed flowers all,
And hides the green hill in an April shroud..."

Sums up the feelings, I think?

gillybob Sun 28-Jul-13 21:59:13

Oh dear glass . We all get grumpy now and again, it's perfectly normal . I know we should all think of the good things we have in our lives but sometimes small things bring us down. Bloody hormones!!! smile

I have been feeling sorry for myself all week but Rick Astley was on in the park opposite my house this afternoon. He didn't half cheer me up ........"never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down......" grin

celebgran Sun 28-Jul-13 22:14:00

Glad you bit brighter glass or I am n hrt have been for 4 years just over.

God knows what I. Will be like when come off my poor oh gets moaned at enough wish I was not to edgy realise our situation not easy but can't blame it for everything!

Ana Sun 28-Jul-13 22:17:08

Oh, gillybob! I felt better just reading your post about that song - it's the little things that make life seem so much brighter, isn't it? smile

Ana Sun 28-Jul-13 22:18:45

PS If Rick Astley not to your taste, substitute a song/piece of music etc. that gives you that lift!

harrigran Sun 28-Jul-13 22:30:18

glass flowers
I am not finding much time to post now that school holidays are here, GC are off on holiday in a day or two but I have a second home to empty and prepare for sale.

Ella46 Sun 28-Jul-13 22:30:41

A good old singalong to some favourite music always cheers me up and deafens the neighbours!

moomin Sun 28-Jul-13 22:54:36

Either 14th or 15th could work for me glass - how about it jane? Hope those grumps have stomped off after a good night's sleep and tomorrow looks brighter sunshine

Nelliemoser Sun 28-Jul-13 23:09:31

Glass take of care of yourself. (((hugs)))

I know just what you mean about needing a grump once in a while. Long term domestic stresses get to me from time to time; but with things that are not easily fixed the term soldiering on comes to mind. I am another glass half empty type.

There seems to be an unwritten pact on GN that allows anyone feeling in serious need of a whinge bit of emotional support to be able to do so when needed. We should not be coy about asking for a bit of emotional support if we don't have access to such a person.

We can all take it in turns as and when required.

glass You need a break. Is there any chance that you and the lovely Mr glass can get away for a weekend? I don't mean a weekend working on the house; I mean a weekend being wined and dined and generally pampered and spoiled. Carers need time off too.

How is the New Zealand fund? We are looking forward to seeing you.

Ella46 Mon 29-Jul-13 07:31:19

glass, I do hope you're feeling a little more sunny today. You seem to be always doing things for your family, so maybe try and slow down and do something for you.
A meet up with your gn friends will cheer you up too smile

glassortwo Mon 29-Jul-13 07:54:10

You are a lovely lot as super would say thank you. sunshine smile

I do feel brighter this morning as I am sat here in the quiet before the kids get up. Had a terrible bout of cistitis last night came on all of a sudden, but looking back yesterday morning I had all the indicators that it was on its way,DD googled what I could take as shops were all closed and came up with 1/2 tsp of bicarb 3 times a day on Bupa site so I gave it a go and it did take the pain away, so I need tocontinue to drink lots of water, looking back on Saturday I didnt drink much so I should know better.

janeainsworth Mon 29-Jul-13 08:05:07

oh cystitis is horrible - I used to get it a lot but since I've started drinking a lot more water (at least 3 large glasses a day + my usual brew + wine) I haven't had it at all. Bicarb is the best thing if you do get an attack.

Oldgreymare Mon 29-Jul-13 08:19:33

Dear Glass, sorry about the grumps, bet you were 'sickening' for the wretched cystitis and short of fluids. Hope you feel better soon.
Lots of lovely helpful advice already given, here is a little bit more..... I work to the reward principle, and try to book a cut'n blow dry or a pedicure. Then I have something to look forward to. Both come with a mini massage (head and shoulders with the hairdo and legs and feet with the pedicure) and leave me feeling 'at peace' having forgotten the grumps!

kittylester Mon 29-Jul-13 09:40:59

Oh, cystitis is very 'lowering' - loads of water at least a glassortwo grin

If you are feeling a bit better is it ok for me to say that when I see this heading I want to say 'and I'm sneezy'. My antihistamines were giving me an upset stomach so I've stopped taking them - hence the sneezes. grin
