Okay!!! The messages from so many lovely people have gone to my heart. My head has been over-ruled.

soop's kitchen is a cosy place. You lot are invited to drop in for a wee chat on whatever matter moves you.

Rory welcomes you with a purr. xxx

Lona Fri 06-Sept-13 08:21:09

Horrible, gloomy wet day and I need more tea to get me going.
I fell yesterday afternoon in my bedroom, came crashing down on my bad knee, but it seems ok today, I can't believe it!

Anyone fancy some hot buttered toast?

Zengran Fri 06-Sept-13 08:22:34

Lona OUCH!!

I'll make the tea, you sit down and butter the toast.....

whenim64 Fri 06-Sept-13 08:36:27

Lona glad you're ok. Knees are such nuisances when they start protesting after falls. smile

Lona Fri 06-Sept-13 08:43:38

Thanks zen I do like a lot of butter. when I really thought I'd done some serious damage.................but no, thank goodness.

Ariadne Fri 06-Sept-13 08:50:26

Ooh Lona! I have a bad knee and would just hate to fall on it. There, there. flowers

annodomini Fri 06-Sept-13 09:22:36

Galen grin good pun.

Galen Fri 06-Sept-13 10:12:55

Thanks. Spelling probably wrong . I wondered if anyone would get it!

Lona Fri 06-Sept-13 10:40:50

Yes we did Galen smile

Gally as you so rightly say, your experience will make you laugh at some future date. Mr soop and I had a similar experience when we stayed at a hotel in Rutland. It was on the occasion of our 20th wedding anniversary. Must confess, I'm still a tad peeved. Hey ho! As bags would say.

Off to sunny Campbeltown to shop at Tesco. May even call in at the nice coffee shop at the garden centre in Glenbarr, and treat ourselves to a latte and a toastie.

Good to see so many friendly faces in the kitchen. Plenty of goodies to share. Enjoy smile

Lona, Rory wants you to use his stool and favourite cushion... rest your poorly leg and have a delicious cup of coffee and one of bag's flapjacks. There should be a few freshly baked in the biscuit barrel wink

soop Fri 06-Sept-13 11:20:51

bags the poem is really lovely. Our sky was beautiful last evening. I shall add a photo later today.

Lona Fri 06-Sept-13 11:58:23

Please give Rory a special stroke and treat from me soop, I am indeed honoured smile

Mmm bags's flapjacks are scrumplicious!

Hope your knees will be alright Lona, I fell on the hospital car park the other week, landed on both knees, neither of which is in good shape, recovering now, but still a tad sore. A cuppa would be nice, are there any scones about please?
Soop, your Rory is a little gent! Have they given up on the new bigger Tesco that they were going to have in Campbeltown? Haven`t heard any mention for a while. I`ve never been to the coffee shop at Glenbarr, we were supposed to meet there when we came to Scotland this year weren`t we, before we had to cancel? What a shame.

whenim64 Fri 06-Sept-13 16:46:50

Home made celery soup and a sourdough loaf, still warm. Help yourselves! I went out and left the loaf to rise to the top of the bowl - must do that again.

I feel damp and cold, so it's great to relax and get warm. Is it really turning into autumn? It was summer yesterday.

soop Fri 06-Sept-13 16:48:25

Purrs from Rory.

number Campbeltown has and still is undergoing a massive face-lift. We had fish and chips in the newly refurbished Argyll Arms. A real treat.
I believe that the new Tesco is "on hold"...when you next visit, we'll definitely visit the coffee shop in Glenbarr. That's a promise. smile

Sure is Soop!! xxx
I spoke too soon earlier, it`s raining now. I`ve been nibbling on some lovely cashew nuts, I usually have the plain uncooked ones, but these are sea salt and black pepper, a bit hot, but nice.

kittylester Fri 06-Sept-13 17:28:49

I've just got in from volunteering - it has been quite trying - I'd love some hot buttered toast if there's any left and a cuppa before I start dinner. smile

Ariadne Fri 06-Sept-13 17:39:06

The rain has well and truly arrived down here! But at least I don't have to haul out the hose and water everything! A bit of hot buttered toast will go down nicely, please.

Here's another clementine cake, with lemon added this time kitty! Soon be time for wine too...

annodomini Fri 06-Sept-13 18:06:57

Chilly and wet! I've resorted to wearing a fleece - and socks. I could do with a bowl of hot soup but don't like celery - sorry, when. I'll go and make some pea and mint soup - just give me time.

Gally Fri 06-Sept-13 18:13:34

Sorry I missed breakfast - slept in until gone 9 after my sleepless hotel night the night before. Tomorrow is our village Flower Show and for some unfathomable reason I have decided to enter the flower arranging (arrangement in a brew; Red Red Wine with 5 red roses; A buffet table centrepiece and A Walk in the Woods). I have never ever managed to arrange a bunch of daffs, never mind enter something like this - should be a laugh - for someone grin. I have also made some red pepper soup which has to be entered in a flask - just off into the attic to see if I can find one...........

whenim64 Fri 06-Sept-13 18:20:18

anno we've had every season round here today. This morning was so promising, but after a couple of soakings, I'm considering putting the heating on.

thatbags Fri 06-Sept-13 18:28:42

Stove is lit. It was well chilly last night but who cares if that means the sky is clear enough to see the Milky Way? Not I, said Thatbags. Your southern clouds are upon us now.

Nelliemoser Fri 06-Sept-13 19:51:18

I have made some Gooseberry Jam today! It will go well on bread, scones or crumpets. It seems to have set "rather firmly" and might need chiseling out of the jar but it tastes good !

whenim64 Fri 06-Sept-13 20:12:43

Nellie my friend once made us some lunch with her home-made gooseberry jam on toasted chunky bread with melted brie on top. It was heavenly!

annodomini Fri 06-Sept-13 20:15:03

Gooseberry jam and melted brie - definitely a match made in heaven.
