Clotted cream, love it! The best thing about virtual tea, biscuits and cake is the lack of expanding waistline . Love the pictures of Rory, I'd best leave Sheba the greyhound out of the kitchen tho' as she's started taking an unhealthy interest in the neighbourhood felines lately.

Perhaps I'd better have some of Greatnan's soup (soop?) and thatbags home-baked bread first, then follow with fresh scone, jam and clotted cream.

Gaga you are a star. I can smell the freshly baked scones from here. Homemade jam AND clotted cream. A feast indeed.

Wee Man hasn't seen the face. He lives 600 miles away in London. The children who have seen the face have appeared "disturbed"...in fact, one wee girl in the local supermarket hid behind her mummy. We attended a wedding party in the village hall. A lady asked me if she could photograph the face. I could have charged her!

Rory is very special. Hard to believe that he was born and raised in the wild forest. And now, he rules our roost and we make his life as comfortable as we can. I know how you feel about your late Clotto. Getting attached to a household pet is a dangerous thing to do.

I've left plenty of goodies for visitors to share. I hope that you have a very pleasant evening [when it comes]. I'm off to do the usual useful jobs hither and thither. After which, I shall relax with a Saturday Sapphire G&T complete with ice and a slice of lime and the newspaper. Slainte to you all. Back late morning tomorrow. Cheers Soop have cracked open a bottle of fizz to celebrate..... (no, not real champagne!) you are now in the company of an award winning jam/jelly maker.... Guess what? I got 2nd prize for both in the local Hort. Soc. show. Chuffed to bits!!! ( Prizes were 75p each!!!!!)
So who fancies blackcurrant jam/gooseberry jelly with their croissants*/toast tomorrow morning?

Thanks OGM, but may I stick to cinnamon porridge - I hate croissants because they are too greasy! I would love a real Devon cream tea - can somebody bring buttered scones, raspberry jam and clotted cream, please?

I will bring some of my daughter's home-made tomato relish - she has had a bumper crop in New Zealand and is busy finding ways of using them.

I've not been visiting the GN mother-site very much lately because I'm too busy with nurturing my baby GN Local sites; other freelance work; some horrendous family problems (one family member) and trying to fit a new fella into the rare and precious spaces in between! (It never rains but it pours )
Having just read your 'farewell' Soop, I was delighted to see your return to the fold in the form of your kitchen. A lovely idea
I love seeing your photos on FB, but posts can easily get lost in the torrent of updates from others (especially when you're editing 3 pages as well as trying to be yourself! I very often get very confused about who I am!!)
I do hope one can enjoy a glass or several of in the kitchen

Greatnan I'm your person for the Devonshire cream. As a Devonshire Dumpling I am s glad you called it Devon! My Oh is from Cornwall and we continually argue as to which County produces the best cream. I do make a mean scone though so will bring some tomorrow.

Tired today so can't stay long. DD2 has broken her little toe for the second time in six weeks and we spent 4 hours in Bristol's A&E. Oh, Happy Daze! Off to bed now.

Liz Devon and Cornwall are lovely counties. I've lived in both. Now Scotland is home to us, and glorious it is too.

Ana We were enjoying our coffee and watched Rory as he sat as still as a statue gazing into the foliage. He then moved with Tiger-like stealth and pounced. He had captured a vole, which he brought to Mr soop's feet. In one gulp, he ate it. So much for the diet!

Rory ate the vole. Not Mr soop.

I have just been cutting the grass (phew, too hot for all that) and managed to tread, barefoot. on half a frog, leapt into the air and then landed on the other half - time for a I think or perhaps a g&t; do you have any in the kitchen Soop?

So Gally you now have two frogs to eat the slugs!

Bloomin' eck. I just thought I'd investigate Soop's kitchen and see if I could sneak a cuppa and find it packed out with visits. I'll just slid into a corner and eavesdrop on the conversations if that's ok. (Am finding the visions of barefoot frog dancing wonderful!)

I will have to bring some teabags from England - my guests usually bring me PG Tips or Yorkshire Tea. I can't be doing with the weak stuff we get in France!

Hello, OK if I pop in, I am just on my way home as been for lunch at a pub I had not visited before. It was very nice and the garden had lovely views over local farmland. Could do with a cuppa and a chat!

Just made some delicious courgette fritters if anyone wants to try some. Their proper name is Kolokithokeftethes, but no matter how I try I just can't say it.

It's so heart warming to sidle into the kitchen and hear the merry sound of chatter and laughter. I see that we're not exactly short of food and drinkie-poos. Make my Pimms a treble GA. A sprig of fresh mint perhaps. This is the life! Courgette fritters seem to have been scoffed in a trice. Get the pan out, GA.

I did tell Rory that it isn't good form to go catching wee creatures and eating them with relish. He looked coy and then sauntered off in the direction of his canvas chair. He's been there ever since.
Mr soop making a brew. Time to move and enjoy a spot of fresh air.

As long as Rory eats his catch it doesn't seem so bad. We had a big black fella just lie him (Fred - answered to Frederick). We always knew how many voles he'd demolished as he left the stomachs behind.

Better be off and make the stuffing to go with tonight's roast chicken. No snacking for me.
