Terminal 5 at he's throw is completely disorganised. Porter booked, waited an hour, no porter

thatbags Sun 22-Sept-13 06:55:27

Oh dear! Hope thing improve!!! I've lost track. Are you coming from or going on your cruise?

thatbags Sun 22-Sept-13 07:05:45

Just seen that you are going. Have a good cruise.

Galen Sun 22-Sept-13 07:12:24

Heathrow. I then had to walk miles behind a very disagreeable little porter who would not slow down for me! He then demanded money, until he was told by the wheelchair staff disabled did not pay.
Having arrived at 5am, it was 7am by the time I got into the lounge.
By then I was stressed out.
Not a good start to my cruise!

Galen Sun 22-Sept-13 07:14:07

Flight is 8-30 to Venice so I'm drinking champagne, destressing!smile

MiceElf Sun 22-Sept-13 07:17:45

Well, you need it after that experience. I hope the champagne is sharpening your brain for a very pointed complaint.

Have a wonderful cruise. Whete are you going? Sorry if I missed the answer.

NfkDumpling Sun 22-Sept-13 07:27:41

Morning! Very misty and autumnal in Norfolk.

Hope you get away ok Galen and have a wonderful time.

DD1 is here for the weekend - all are still in bed (including the dog) except for me and youngest DGD aged nearly two. Jigsaws, dolls, cars, all mixed up all over the floor. Bliss! smilesunshine

Greatnan Sun 22-Sept-13 07:27:44

Galen, I hope you write a very strong letter of complaint. That is disgraceful behaviour. MY sister was well treated when I arranged wheelchair support for her at Manchester, but the man at Geneva was not very obliging.
I look forward to hearing your updates - no doubt you will be flirting with the dishy officers!

Good Morning everyone,
Grey here in Brackley , big move tomorrow, state of stress and hoping things go to plan.
Mick
PS hope I get less stress, and sleep better due to aSB of person in flat above me.
those that seem to think they can overrule others and control , the one above me is a physcopath ,and has been inside for murdering a family member plus into those drugs.

absent Sun 22-Sept-13 07:49:58

Champagne is good and so is Venice. Why didn't they put you on one of those toy train things so you didn't have to trail behind the disagreeable porter?

It's evening here and I have had a lovely, if rather odd time. We gathered – Mr absent and I – at absent daughter's home to celebrate absentfather's (my ex's) birthday. Ex and I were married on his 31st birthday. It's all kind of incestuous isn't it but I am behaving well about all this and not throwing tantrums as I did about her wedding (which I didn't attend).

Aka Sun 22-Sept-13 08:05:25

Michael hope you mean you're leaving your psychopathic neighbour behind? Wasn't entirely clear from your post.

Galen enjoy your champagne and Venice, put the bad start behind you.

moomin Sun 22-Sept-13 08:49:18

Happy cruising Galen smile

kittylester Sun 22-Sept-13 08:49:50

Not long to go Michael sunshine

Hope the bad start is a distant memory Galen DS1 went to London on the train yesterday and all his assistance worked well which is a relief.

North Leicestershire is really bright this morning so we have decided to venture South and go to Foxton Locks!! sunshine

Bez Sun 22-Sept-13 08:59:18

Good morning everyone - awoke to us shine this morning - looks as if we are set for a lovely warm week.

Enjoy the cruise Galen and happy moving Mick. And a good day to everyone else whatever your plans.

annodomini Sun 22-Sept-13 09:13:00

Hope everything is sunshine from now on Galen. How dare they treat our queen bee so off-handedly!

PRINTMISS Sun 22-Sept-13 09:49:40

Enjoy your cruise Galen, and hope all goes well for your Mick, you deserve a smooth ride.
The morning here is a little dull, I awoke late again, must be winter drawing on.
Men versus ladies this p.m. at bowls, always an enjoyable occasion, and although on the whole the ladies are better bowlers than the men, the men always seem to win these matches - it's ladies versus men in the spring and men versus ladies in the autumn.

dustyangel Sun 22-Sept-13 10:14:32

Good morning everyone, fine and bright here but very windy. That might be why there were less hunters this morning. It sounds as if we live in very similar countryside to you Bez.
I'm expecting DD1 and DGD this evening. DD coming straight from 24 hours Wild Camping, part of her Forest Schools course. She couldn't make up her mind if she was looking forward to it or not! I hope the weather was kind to her.
Good Luck with the move Mick and Good Luck Number, I hope everything goes well with the operation tomorrow.
Enjoy the cruise Galen. Dh and I were told that EVERYONE is entitled to airport assistance if they need it because of the airport taxes included in our fares.
Long post today. Temperature has gone up to 23.3C while I@ve been typing.

Thistledoo Sun 22-Sept-13 10:20:00

Good morning everyone, it promises to be a very nice day here on Moray Firth. Feeling in reflective mood today as on this day 39 years ago I gave birth to a baby boy, very sadly he was stillborn. Each year I remember every single minute of that day. I spend time wondering what my son would have looked like, what kind of life would he have carved out for himself and what kind of person he would have been. Why do I feel guilty about wanting to talk and remember my sons birthday, most, if not all people (including family) just do not talk about such things. I must sound as though I am a neurotic woman who has been grieving for all these years. Not true at all. Perhaps its something to do with the baby being removed from the delivery room immediately, I never saw his face, only one tiny little foot. Why did they do that, when I asked, the reply was.... It will damage you to hold your stillborn son. Thankfully things have changed.

harrigran Sun 22-Sept-13 10:28:10

Started bright and sunny here in the north east but it is clouding over now.
We have the day to ourselves because DS rang to say that GD1 had yet another tummy bug and probably better not to put ourselves in the firing line.

harrigran Sun 22-Sept-13 10:29:33

Thistledoo flowers be kind to yourself today.

Hebs Sun 22-Sept-13 10:32:44

Good morning from The Hebrides, Thistledoo, I to would remember such a day. You are bound to think, What if things had of been different. I try to put myself in your situation, today I would be doing the same as you.

Lona Sun 22-Sept-13 10:35:59

Thistledoo flowers How sad, but don't feel guilty, you are his mum and entitled to think about him as often as you wish.

Galen Enjoy your cruise, and complain about that horrible porter!

Mick Good luck tomorrow and I'm sure you will be much less stressed in a few dayssunshine

Happy Sunday all!

whenim64 Sun 22-Sept-13 11:09:00

Thistledoo of course you are right to remember and mourn what could have been, having lost your baby. I hope the day passes peacefully for you flowers

Tegan Sun 22-Sept-13 11:30:42

The days when we have our children are etched in our memories forever. Thank goodness things have changed now and loss is dealt with more sensitively. My mum lost many babies before I was born and I often wonder what my brothers or sisters would have been like had they lived but, above all I wish I'd understood at the time what she'd been through and spoken to her about it. I'm sorry for your loss, Thistedoo flowers.

annodomini Sun 22-Sept-13 11:51:13

Thisldoo, what a sad day for you. You are right to cherish the memory of your son. flowers
