I thought it would be a good idea to open a thread where those of us who are upset by this news can comfort each other. Better to share thoughts here and leave the IMPORTANT thread for on-going efforts to find her.

People over at Mumsnet have been bumping threads for over 2000 posts, in order to keep Carol at the forefront of minds. The latest thread has finally been 'stickied' but bumping seemed to be a way of sending love and hope for Carol, and it is hard not to do that tonight.

So I have taken a small liberty and decided to light a candle of hope for her.
Carol is not religious, but this is not about religion...it is about sending a small light out into the world tonight, to shine into the dark for her.
I opened my candle as a 'group' option in case anyone else feels the same way. Please light your own candle of hope of, in the group, to shine out into the darkness for her tonight.
The link is here ....and anyone can click on an unlit candle to light a beacon for her.

If, for any reason, the link doesn't work for you ... just go ]]http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/search.cfm?l=eng here]] and enter CAROL in the groups search box

Over on Mumsnet festiveEdition has included a link so you can light a candle. Here is a link to the thread if you want to light your own candle, here is what she has written.....

inthefields and glass, I wouldn't call myself religious in any way, but that is a beautiful idea and I have lit a candle for Carol and her family.

Granny23 Mon 04-Nov-13 22:39:05

Me too. Shining a light in the darkness is an idea that predates and was adopted by Religion. It seems such a comforting thing to do.

Marelli Mon 04-Nov-13 22:43:07

Mine is also lit. Always hoping.

Lona Mon 04-Nov-13 22:45:54
