Soop's Kitchen Extension

Just sneaking in to put the kettle on. I'll be really quiet! Two little DGSs and I are up, but I have plonked them in front of the TV while I have my coffee. What a bad Nannie...but what I wouldn't have given for early morning TV when my lot were up at the crack of dawn!

Great to be able to be into places at once. I'll leave the scones, jam and clotted cream left over from the party yesterday. See you later.

Delicious scones, thank you Ariadne good for breakfast but maybe I won't have the cream. What the heck, scones without cream, no way Cream it has to be mmmm. Hope you enjoy your day with the family.

No scones for me though - we are going for a John Lewis full English. A would he nice before we set off.

Good morning, everyone. I love Sunday mornings - been for a walk in the sunshine, and now my dog is curled up in her basket until I get the bacon out of the fridge. Relaxing breakfast, Andrew Marr on the TV, then I'll get myself organised for driving over to daughter's for a late Sunday lunch.

Now, should I put extra rashers under the grill?

Good morning to you all. It would be difficult to do justice to the scene from the window. There is barely a cloud in the sky. Barely a ripple on the water. Sun is glinting on the shore-line rocks. I caught sight of an otter emerging from the water. He shook his coat and the drops of water looked like wee jewels in the sunlight. At eleven o'clock I stood in the sunshine for the two minute silence. Dozens of strands of spider web drifted through the still air. Each one seemed to represent a long lost soul.

bags there is a little plum wine left in the bottle. Shame to let it go to waste. Ariadne I shall a scone for the match between Roger and Rafa.

Lona I apologise. I meant to say that I'm so sorry to learn that your son is losing his sight.

kitty you certainly do things in style. A full English breakfast is my idea of the perfect Sunday treat.

Rafa won in straight sets. It was a very exciting match. I have a and one of Ariadne's scones and I'm ready to take what promises to be an interesting sunset.

My middle son will be 50 tomorrow. During the afternoon prior to his birth, I started an almighty late spring clean. My mother found me on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor to with gusto. She said...baby won't be long now! Then Nurse Rowe, the local midwife, popped in. I was emptying the kitchen cupboards. She said...your mother's right, baby won't be long now. Off she went on her bicycle, returning not so many hours later to suggest that I hop into bed as baby was well on his way. I remember thinking - shouldn't it be more painful than this? Memories!

Soup a very happy birthday to your son for tomorrow. Thank you for your shared memories of his arrival too. Such a momentous event, it's good to remember. I think we all tend to forget that every birthday should really be a shared mother and child event. (With presents and cake for both, of course!)
I was lucky enough to see yesterday's tennis live in London - the first time I have seen Federer so very pleased he won. Given his age (!!!), he may not be playing for much longer I suppose. Very good match though.

I am coming over for a sofa for the night. I have not had a restful day and need to de-stress.

Feeling knackered really. I might take up residence in Rory's former Dog house.

Have a big (((hug))) nellie and what ever comfort food you fancy then cover yourselves in a fluffy blanket and snuggle down.

I'm ready for a nice then I'm off for a plotting meeting!

My "happy bubble" of a wonderful day yesterday with all our DDs, DD1's MIL and FIL, and our two most favourite little men in all the world and birthday party for little DGS who will be 2 on Wednesday well and truly punctured by nasty pm this morning and fuss about the Windsors thread.
However, remembering little Toby's face when he pounced on his new Trunki is what I will focus on and those who want to have a go at me can go and take a running jump(or something ruder involving acronyms).

No nastiness here, gracesmum! We are all content here, and know when to slob out relax and enjoy good food and company.

Got back from superb family party at the weekend, after the usual long drive in the pouring rain. Am glowing with pride and happiness. soop DD sends her love and DGDog send a "woof".

absolutely!! DGS2 is always intitally a bit less forthcoming than his big bro, who at 3 1/2 is very articulate and sounds so grown up when he says Hello! but shortly after we arrived I felt my calves in a vice-like hug and I knew I was getting my first cuddle!! I am still "Hangy" to him, bless, and they are so gorgeous DH had to drag me away or I would have easily outstayed my welcome!!

Lovely to see you lot. Nellie the sofa is big and comfy and can accommodate all my Granspals. Mr soop has decided to purchase the Fiat from the nice man's dealership in Campbeltown. It's a special day today - son's 50th birthday, Rafa in the final at 7.30 this evening, and a low mileage/comfortable/well maintained car to collect. It's time for me to empty the washing machine and then we'll be on our way to Campbeltown.

I hate to rush away without meeting and greeting you all individually. However, needs must. Mr soop is all ready to go... I shall return after lunch. Be kind to each other. Feel free to slob relax and enjoy your refreshments.

Soop was a child bride of course - how nice to have such a happy programme for a wet Monday in November!!! Now that the sofa has ben tested for Granny capacity - how many of us wll fit in the Fiat? (Sounds like one of those "how many elephants can you get in a Mini" jokes) I fancy a wee day trip ....!
PS I am enjoying a lovely cup of coffee with my humble pie cardamom shortbread and the world is beginning to look a better place !

I would not think that Mr. Soop wants any of us remotely near his new pride and joy. I will stay on the sofa with Rory, he wants a cuddle I think.

What can I say? The waiting around at the garage for exchange of documentation and all that palarva was too boring for words. I didn't show it. I understood that Mr soop was thrilled by the exchange, so I sat back and chomped on humbugs. This is supposed to be a 500 calorie day. I must have already consumed double that, because we went for a coffee and huge, sticky flapjack and bought two date slices [one of which I've eaten without as much as a by your leave.] I think that men must feel equally jaded when wandering aimlessly around M&S. Mr soop assures me that he actually enjoys such outings. Well now, when's the next trip to Glasgow...

gracesmum "Hangy" is a beautiful name. anno is right. I've no idea what the fuss was all about. Suffice to say that, when my Granspals call by, they leave their argy-bargy banter outside the door. This is a peaceful home.

Icyalittle Roger must have felt drained of energy when he played against Rafa. Mind you, he has the most amazing record. And, as you rightly say, he is one of the senior tennis players. I imagine it will be tough for him to reach the decision to "retire"...but not just yet. Tonight's match between Rafa and Novak promises to be a thriller. I would like Rafa to win. We shall see.

Charleygirl Mr soop is so enamoured by the lovely ladies on GN [because they all said such nice things about him on the occasion of his recent birthday] I'm sure that he'd love the opportunity to take you for a spin.

Agus my eldest son is 53. The middle son 50 and my youngest will be 40 next year. Three super sons. Seven super grandchildren. My heart's delight.
