It's been a strange day. Apart from worrying about the whereabouts of Greatnan I've not been very productive. The weather is behaving in an unsettled fashion. Inky clouds, Lashing rain. The promise of a brighter sky. Please keep coming to the kitchen. I would miss the company of you lot if you stayed away.

I've made a gf, fresh cream and raspberry sponge for mrsoop's birthday. It's quite big but not quite big enough for 73 candles so I 've put a number seven and a number 3 on it, hope that's ok. I'm sure there is enough for everyone. Shall we have it with 
at tea time?

I will be over soon with more "boughten" Malt loaf. Right shoulder in a sling does not allow home baking. If I eat it at Soop's I won't put on calories.
Does anyone else almost come to almost believe in or visualise these virtual places? I hope its not just me.

I do so love to pop in here for a quick relaxing few minutes I have loads to do to-day even though the weather is awful I must go out and about,the menu's have to come in for our neighbourly xmas lunch and guess who volunteered to organise it ?? so there will be a lot of changing of minds I'm sure before the final choices are made.
Happy Birthday Mr Soop - I am sure you will be thoroughly spoiled! We celebrate, with a family lunch today, DD1's 40th birthday, which doesn't actually happen until 8th! However, it will be nice to be together, as always, and here's hoping DGDs are happy and well behaved! Must away now to put on a 'face' worthy of the mother of a 40 year old!!

As for the special cakes and bubbly and the guid stuff, we shall celebrate with all of you when we return this afternoon. If only that could be arranged. It would be such fun.
It's a bright and blustery day. Huge clouds and a choppy sea, capped with white waves. bags last night was indeed blustery. Rory refused to put his nose [let alone himself] outside the door.
I've photographed the couch. Bet you can't wait to see it

Perhaps, today, we shall all have promising news of Greatnan. In the meantime, enjoy relaxing in the kitchen. Eat, drink and be merry.
