I think Princess Zara sounds rather exotic.

She's worth ten of those other two put together anyway. Even if most of her 'fame' is because of whose DGD she is.

If somebody offered me a hundred thousand pounds for some photos I would find it very difficult to say no.

No they wouldn't, nonu The Civil List is very specific about who benefits. you don't get on it just by being a princess.

Only The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen Mother ever received direct funding from the Civil List.

Edward has a daughter, Lady Louise Windsor and a son, James, Viscount Severn. The only reason they are not a prince and princess is because Edward is only an Earl at the moment. When the D of E dies he will become Duke of Edinburgh which will elevate the status of his children.

Isn't posing for pictures like this how they earn their living? Neither them otherwise seem to have any other money earning activities, bar sponsorship for their sports.

I expect Princess Ann saw the writing on the wall and with three brothers ahead of her in the succession she decided to help her family adjust to life in the real world. I'm not sure that Andy did his two girls a favour by making them princesses, it's a bit rarified for two girls working in offices isn't it. Aren't Edward's girls 'Ladies'? More manageable, I think...

I admire the way Princess Anne brought up her children to make their own way while other minor royals (the Wessexes and the Yorks) maintain their titles. I'm sure they have a little stash of titles in a musty old cupboard ready for any royal infant whose parents fancy it!

Have to agree with you there, Tegan She is not included on the Civil List.

I do not buy any of the "celeb" magazines, but when I notice them when in the check out queue, many of them seem to feature either people who I have never heard of, our people who seem to be famous for being famous!

Rather Zara got paid by Hello than it went to Katie Price. Hard working, good role model and all round decent person is Zara. Good luck to her.

Hey mollie - I agree with you about this one. I can't get agitated about this kind of thing. I confess to having looked twice at the Hello cover on the display, but this isn't the 20th century, and things change. The reality is they have both been successful in sports to the extent they have represented their country, and that gives them a certain celebrity whether we like it or not. I say good luck to them, and their lovely baby. Whose betting there is a shetland pony already identified as first horse?

Well, they do earn their own living true, but it is being HM's DGD for which she is most famous, despite not having a royal title.

I guess they're entitled to earn their money however they can as they aren't kept but the public purse. On top of that, if they don't do it this way - with some control over the pictures - the paparazzi will try to get that 'first' baby photo and it might not be so flattering! I don't blame them.

To be fair, Zara and Mike earn their own living so they are at liberty to do as they please. Maybe they'll donate the money to a sports charity?
