What pushes your buttons?

we've had bad neighbours twice and have moved out ourselves because they were annoying everyone and devaluing the property in the street. Some people simply do not have any consideration or any respect for others. It drives me mad! Fortunately, at the moment, neighbours are lovely and we have no problems. Perhaps things wont be so bad when they move back in Hope so. x

People who call me 'silly' because they do not agree with my views. Just because they have a different point of view does not mean that they are right nor does it give them the right to call anyone 'silly'.

Silly: definition - having or showing a lack of common sense or judgement; absurd and foolish just because you do not agree with someone else's political point of view!

People who have silly views.

[sigh] A large proportion of the population, apparently. Must be very isolating.

And so time-consuming, trying to browbeat convince others that their perfectly reasonable views are 'silly'...

I didn't think I had many until I read all of the replies and found myself nodding in agreement with most of them!

People who say 'I'm good thanks'

That one I really dislike and always ask 'you are good at what' with a very innocent look on my face.

However, braggers and players of one-upmanship will get me walking away very quickly.

Unfortunately we can't walk away from our very own bragger, Hollydaze, he is (nearly) part of the family. Don't see him very often, thank goodness.

Trying to practise my rictus whilst inwardly screaming 'you are such a **'

That would make it more difficult rosequartz - my husband, however, would just up and walk out of a room whilst someone was in the middle of speaking to him if they were boring him! I couldn't go that far but I am happy go glassy eyed

Rudeness, rudeness and bad manners - grrrrrrr.

They always push my buttons. Good manners, being helpful and polite doesn't cost anything and it doesn't half make the world a better place and bring smiles to people's faces.

Also drivers who zoom around corners without indicating, just as I'm crossing and thinking they're going to carry on ahead. So - BAD driving and lack of consideration and awareness of pedestrians.

And don't get me started on drivers who swish through puddles in the gutters on rainy days so unfortunate pedestrians get sprayed with dirty rain water.

Enough.

I refused to buy quite a good quality bed from a store once because the older assistant called us 'you guys'. Like you Suebailey I told her I was not a guy then left the store. Fortunately we managed to find a better bed for cheaper elsewhere which was a relief, OH would not have forgiven me.

What is the problem with non-clinical managers?

What is it about James Dyson that pushes your buttons suebailey1? I wish I had a few more Dyson buttons to push.

Oh dear suebailey1 I'm afraid I hold my fork like a knife - how else would I do it ?

Well, I am sure I do too, besottedgran. Although I feel that I must go into the kitchen to check as I can't remember after 60+ years of holding a knife and fork how I hold the fork.

Yes, hands on top. Can't stand to see someone hold a knife like a pen - it was always was the end of a beautiful friendship if a boyfriend did that!

I'm try ing to work that out too! I have visions of GNers rushing to the cutlery drawer to check!!!

I hate seeing people lick their fingers when they are eating, especially if they are snacking on greasy crisps while using a shared computer keyboard!!

With regard to the NHS, how many of you knew that GPs have voted last week on whether to look into charging for consultations?
That should have been in the national interest, but hasn't been in the news much. It was reported in Pulse, which is a magazine for healthcare professionals.
Fortunately only 59 GPs were in favour with over 200 against, so we are safe for now.
