A friend removed her Christmas turkey from the freezer in the garage, putting it on the drive while she re-arranged the freezer contents, prior to taking it inside for de-frosting. The next morning it was still there minus all the flesh, presumably eaten by foxes!

I have a hair dying, bathroom bleaching old T-shirt type nightie that I ware with just undies. Trouble is if someone comes to the door I have to hide

It hurts my hate of waste, but I think the candle (very large, melted as left it near the woodburner) is going to have to go in the bin in case I forget and do it again next year. Once the tree lights go off, I light candles near the woodburner until it's time to light the fire. The red one I forgot to blow out and the heat made it tip sideways all over the brickwork. I picked it up and raced it to the kitchen, not realising that I had red wax dripping all down my jeans (can't get that out either) all over the carpets and the kitchen tiles. Only the kitchen has recovered so far.

nina I've got one of those but can't remember what colour it was to start with its so old and speckled with different coloured splashes.

The same one who's just spent an hour and s half looking forward to supper only to realise the oven's on but the casserole is still in the fridge, so cheese on toast now ......
I was so well organised when I left the house this morning!

I'm starting to worry that I am having more of these 'incidents'! It took me ages to realise why I had strange marks across my stomach, and why they coincided with my bleaching the kitchen sink area every Friday. It's when I lean across to do the back behind the taps.

I went into shock the day I found the washing liquid in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard.

My microwave is above my fridge and oddly my fridge does not reheat anything.

I clean the showers in my underwear as I have ruined a few pairs of really cords with splashes of bleach.

Yes, a couple of my cotton jumpers had white stripes across the tummy area from leaning across a bleached sink!

The sleeves have white spots from spraying mould and mildew remover around the shower.

I know someone who wears her bikini to scrub out the shower. I don't have a bikini

When we moved to Cornwall 40 years ago we celebrated by buying a lovely pine table from a trendy kitchen shop. Two weeks later DH was sawing some wood on it and yes! he managed to saw through 6 inches of the table top!! We lived with it like that for thirty years before we replaced it and I didn't even divorce him

I hastily hid my Preparation H tube when someone dropped by unexpectedly and I thought they might need to use the loo, and I now can't find where I put it. Which means it will probably turn up somewhere really wierd if and when I have another visitor . [I must point out that I don't get many visitors so things tend to float around my house that others would immediately put away ]....

I put things in 'safe places' and never find them again, like a DIY poltergeist?

When I was newly married, DH and I returned from a night out. We lived in an upstairs 'maisonette' with its own front door and stairs. I remember opening the door and saying 'mmmm, the casserole smells gorgeous' as we went upstairs. OK, the oven was on....... But the casserole was there on the work surface.......not in the oven! Ah well! Another fish and chip night! No other 'take aways' available then!

Wore brand new jeans. Scrubbed pink flagstones with bleach mixture in a bucket using a long handled scrubber. Nice new jeans all covered in little white dots, but only down the front.

I painted my nice new garden trellis one day last Spring, worked until dark, hurriedly ate a sandwich and washed and changed and all in a rush drove off to choir.

It was only when I sat down that I realised I had forgotten to change my work jeans - which were beautifully splattered all down the front in a pale grey-blue, under which was a few splodges of green, against the dark denim. Not a good look, especially when you have to stand in the front row!

I wonder how many of us were on GN at the time the dinner should have been put in the oven, or when whatever was smelt sticking itself to the bottom of the pan was discovered.

When we first moved into our current house DH bought a little summer house to stand in the corner of the garden. I put the keys in a "safe place". We have never been able to unlock it since. In desperation, DH broke into it, and now there is a clever way to open and close the doors.

I polished the fireplace with ant spray as both the tins were very similar!

Just put washing liquid in my coffee mug instead of milk!

I have sometimes put eggs on the boil and forgotten them, then wondered if fireworks were going off.
I have also put a chicken carcass on to boil for stock, settled down for the evening, then much later on smelt burning.

What should I do with one day past use by cooked chicken? Chuck?
