Helloooooooooooooooo

number What your husband did to your property was brutal to say the least.
Had I been you, I may have stuck the red hot poker...you know where.
My friend had been particularly forgetful recently, her DH was worried she might be showing symptoms of dementia, as her mother had suffered before her death. Apparently she still doesn't fully realise what has happened to her although she is speaking quite normally (and if I know her, that means a lot and to everybody in sight!) and has no awareness of either the left side of her body or things on her left. For instance her DH and she were having a go at a crossword and she was fine, but only attempted the clues on the right. Something not as it should be there
DH not as good today, and it is his birthday too. I was going to take him to Brasserie Blanc for lunch but he didn't feel up to it so we will have another go tomorrow. One step forward and only half a step back!
Alea A stroke can cause havoc. My father was suffered a stroke after surgery. He went down hill and died very soon thereafter. And yet our pal who has had several mini-strokes, and is now in a care home, has all his "marbles" and is confined there because his mobility has been severely compromised.
Sorry that your husband was not feeling up to celebrating his birthday. Never mind, just as soon as he does feel improved you'll be celebrating in style.
Alea
hope you make it tomorrow and enjoy.
Wow, number and you still married him. Did you get your revenge?
Anno, I think the term is "mug"!
Alea, I hope your husband is soon back on the up and up, and is fit to enjoy his birthday treat tomorrow.
It is a lovely, sunny Thursday. I am also hoping that Alea' and her husband are having a celebratory lunch with
. Tell us please Alea... some us lot are awfully nosy
I understand that our Bellasnana is feeling over the moon because her darling granddaughter has returned home.
It is a lovely day isn't it?
DH was feeling much more human so we made it to Brasserie Blanc and are now -*totally stuffed*
You get terrific value there.
He managed to walk from the underground Sainsbury's car park through part of the store and across the road to the restaurant which is further than he has walked in 2 weeks. Did you know that your muscle tone can detiorate after only 48 hours in a hospital bed? Scary.
Unfortunately his haemoglobin had dropped again so he has to have another 2 units of blood tomorrow morning. Heigh ho, one step forward but half a step back again.
Hello galen did you enjoy yourself? Been back since Sunday, just finished all the washing, but soooo relaxed. Bit chilly here.
It's not a lovely day in this corner of Cheshire bit isn't cold. I have been down the bottom of the garden trying to harvest some damsons from the old tree that overhangs the brook. The best fruit is mostly on the branches I can't reach without putting a ladder in the water! However, I managed to pick almost 2lbs and now have to keep picking twigs out of my hair. The damsons will make delicious fruit yoghurt for my breakfasts.
I don`t like yoghurt, but love damsons, specially damson jam. My grandma`s was divine tasting, but she left the stones in, so you had to watch out for your teeth!
Alea, good to hear that your husband felt well enough to go out for lunch, glad you both enjoyed it.
Alea your husband did well and it must have pleased you enormously to get out and enjoy a special meal. It is bound to take a lengthy spell of convalescence until he is finally back to his normal self. In the meantime...
and a (hug)
Hello whitewave
anno Like number I am a lover of damson jam. I also eat lots of yoghurt. Do you have a yoghurt maker? I do but I've neglected to use it recently. Two more images - the deer who came to the garden fence and this morning's ferry on it's way to Islay.
Oh Soop what a lovely photo of the deer peeking out from the bushes. You were obviously allowed to get quite close.
Alea glad you and your DH finally got to have his birthday meal. Hope all goes well with with the transfusion tomorrow.
I was so pleased when all my damson jam sold at our fete, all 20 jars of it - but then realised I hadn't even tasted it so was then worried that maybe it wasn't very good! Luckily a lady in the knitting club bought a jar and said it was lovely, which was a weight off my mind.
The only problem is - they want twice as much to sell next year! As it took a day to pick and sort and clean, and a day to make, I do find the prospect rather daunting at a time of year when I have my own harvest to get done. Which reminds me - I have several marrows, squashes, pounds of tomatoes and beans and apples needing my attention so I really shouldn't be on here...
Crafting We have been close enough to stroke the head of visiting deer. This morning I saw that mother deer was with her fawn. I shall share a photo of them later.
janer 40 jars of damson jam! You will need a helper if you've to cope with not only the jam making but the umpteen other gardening jobs that demand your attention. You are amazing. Very well done.
It is a glorious day. One of the warmest for ages. We visited our pal in the care home. As the sun was shining, we sat out on the terrace with him. The views over Campbeltown Loch are lovely.
"Oh Campbelltown Loch I wish you were whisky
Campbelltown Loch och aye
Oh Campbelltown Loch I wish you were whisky
I would drink you dry"
Always comes back to me when I hear the words "Campbelltown Loch"!!
It has been a gorgeous sunny day here, I wonder how Galen's DD's wedding has gone?
Wish I could feel a bit more upbeat, but up by 6 this morning to get DH to hospital for his blood transfusion, he really isn't feeling great and I have persuaded him to try to have a wee nap in bed this afternoon
It really is 1step forward and 3/4 of a step back at the moment.
Alea Bless you. I can only imagine how tired you must be feeling. You have had an anxious time and I hope that you can take a wee nap yourself, whenever the opportunity arises.
Sorry to say that the Mother deer and fawn image is blurred. Such a shame. I possibly had the camera shutter on the wrong setting. Hey ho as bags would say.
Still a lovely picture though Soop.
Ooh look at you Soop you glamorous young thing! You have 'big hair' like me. Your current colour and style suit you now though I think. Very elegant. Mine is wild and woolly ....bit like a toilet brush
Wedding went fine. Very informal but very nice back home now but exhaustef
I used to be so jealous of people with curly hair. I was about 8 years old and I went into a local hairdressers and asked her to cut my hair curly because I was fed up with my mother pulling and dragging it into rollers or whatever as she wanted me to have curly hair. I am happy with my fine, straight hair but I do have a lot of it.
Lovely picture Galen they look ver happy
