Why is this thread still live if it has been reported?

Is it against GNs guidelines to 'resurrect' threads, if so, what is the cutoff point?

Not wanting to cause trouble, just curious, so please don't report me for this.

Hi ladybird9. I do not know that book, but your post resonated with me as I have been very aware in recent times that I am experiencing greater sensitivity over the loss of my daughter - this year will see the tenth anniversary. I looked on /amazon and have found a book about living with the longer term loss of a child. I ordered it and have just begun to read it everything strikes a helpful chord so far.

I think the tenth year is widely recognised as being a milestone in grieving. Personally /I have struggled recently because everyone else, including my own children, seem to have 'moved on' and I feel quite alone in my grief. I also feel so sad that we do not talk about my daughter as we once did. One of my children, albeit gently, reprimanded me for reminding them when it was her birthday a couple of years ago, saying she has worked hard to be happy and it made her feel so down when I reminded her. Each year I invite immediate family to gather for a time on the anniversary of her death, but of late not everyone has prioritised this.

These shifts in how we all grieve do not make me critical of others, just very sad as I feel a bit like the last one standing now...

I digress. I meant to say that it might be worth your time seeing if you can find a similar book that deals with longer term loss. I think it is a new period of adjustment and it might be helpful to hear/ share other similar stories at this point.

Lastly - have you noticed that we now have a bereavement forum? I am going to start a thread on the topic of dealing with longer term loss there too.

Big hugs and flowers. I am so sorry for your loss.

is there anyone out there who has discovered DavidJi, Self Help Secrets of Meditation, if so, would appreciate your comments.
I myself have been bereaved of my husband for almost 9 years, still seeking a positive way to "move on".
