My son then aged about 7 always refused a finger of fudge. In later years he told me that he thought the ad said,

"It's full of peppery goodness," not Cadbury goodness.

My husband came home from school one day wearing his cricket whites and some of the neighbours rushed out thinking he was The White Tide Man.

The downstairs toilet is very old- and I've covered it with old postcards of old ads- love them. One of them dates from my first 6 months in the UK, working for Beecham's - and it of a little girl with a doggie pulling her pants down, showing whiter 'cheeks' than the rest of her body with the caption 'don't be a pale face' for Coppertone suntan lotion.

Often makes me smile and think this advert just wouldn't be allowed anymore.
