Haven't read all the posts ( way too many) but has anyone suggested fielding a small team to speedily dispatch all unwanted cliches and grammatical cock ups by the Olympic presenters.There would only need to be about six of us, but must be eagle eyed,and have fox hearing, and be willing to watch all chat/ waffle/discussion/ verbiage
And pounce fast when we spot one, knocking it to the ground with a swift rugby tackle.

I entered the origami contest today (I have a black belt in origami) unfortunately I had to retire injured after the third round with a torn diagonal crease.

I am in the running for a Supernanny Gold Medal. Having completed an entry of ten days in the 'Double Grandsons' event I am now about to begin a Marathon in the 'Taming a 6 Year Old' event! I may need to pass the baton on in a few weeks as I'm not sure I have the energy levels to complete the distance!!!

Grannyactivist watch out I am in for the medal on looking after a 5 and 3 year old for a week, they arrive on Saturday. DH has been in charge of sorting charity shop toys and me shopping for England so that I have in enough food to satisfy their exacting tastes !

I like the idea of a GN flag but will have to give the responsibility of designing it to the rest of the team as I will be splitting my time between looking after the GSs and holding together our GN team in Rio. The life of this pensioner is never dull.

Oh no! Who would have thought that axle grease would do that to the diving pool? If anyone needs me, I'll be holed up in the Team GN medical store today till the fuss dies down, behind locker number 13 right at the back - XXXXL surgical stockings, Tena pads and corn plasters. I'll have my emergency supply of Pringles and Freddos with me, but any donations of hot food you could smuggle in would be gratefully received (I'm particularly partial to a pork pie or a spicy sausage).

I got that grease from an MOD dump there were hundred of tins there. They did have a yellow warning symbol on them, but why care if it's just for axles.

As there does not seem to be an official Olympics thread can I please intrude for a minute to say that last night, at an ungodly hour, my friend's son and our local hero, broke the British record while qualifying for the Freestyle swimming final and then won a real SILVER Olympic medal as part of the GB relay team. Unbelievably exciting!!!

I'd like to nominate his Mum (and Dad) for a medal for cheerleading, via Facebook, and staying awake for days on end to watch and keep all of us up to date with news.

Sir Steve Redgrave after winning his Gold medal (don't know which one) came through our town in an open topped bus, he was staggered at the number of people who turned out to cheer him and at his destination he got off the bus and shook the hands of everyone who wanted to congratulate him. He was an hour or so late for the official lunch but he put his fans before the Town Council.

I am arranging for the GN team to do an open top tour of GB on their return.

Hope enough of them make it back in a fit state to do that Nankate Will the bus have a stairlift?

I have been several days in training for nankate's sherry glugging team but I must get rid of the empties as we have a visitor arriving tomorrow. Happy days, I feel no pain.

Those skimpy shorts are a bit alarming. It looks very suspect when they turn their backs to the camera by the shower. Surely something a bit more substantial wouldn't chafe so much!!

I went into the garage after dark last night, notice that the other can of grease was giving off a sickly green glow . What does this symbol mean ?
