I loved the job Baubles, with the then GPO, before the days of BT, it was just the supervisor I didn`t like, not many did.

callgirl I was a GPO telephonist on the old type of exchange , Macclesfield 1966 -68 . I loved the old type switchboards with the long cords and jack plugs which snapped back into there holders . The supervisors were absolute horrors and walked at the back of you making sure you weren`t slacking .

And having to wait for someone to be found to plug into your position when you needed a wee, and being expected to get down 3 flights of stairs and back in a couple of minutes!
